no. they are different types of players. but acting like getting yellow cards will stop a player from being great is just wrong. Suarez is a great example of a fantastic player with a less than stellar rep. anyone who watches football will tell you he’s amongst the best goal scorers in the world, but he’s an absolute **** who will dive, punch, bite, and do whatever else it takes to get an advantage. just his way of playing.

harry kane is a smart and humble guy, he takes the high road

that’s why i like him. but it doesn’t make other players worse than him for not being the same way.

define great

he hasn’t been red carded yet so i guess that’s good for him

he cannot play football. can’t pass the ball, can’t position himself, can’t defend. at least not at a professional level. he was alright before he joined united but has played like literal **** ever since.

i am mad that belgium if lost if that isn’t clear

Who are you talking about?

Honesty, I'm just a casual fan. I basically get up for the World Cup. I can only go by I've seen here. It just seems to me that if you're truly a great player and, more importantly, a great team player, you don't have to resort to the tactics Mbappe pulls. I haven't noticed any of that crap from any of the other semi-finalists (or most of the French team for that matter). Anyway, you guys know about football than I do but I would like to think there would be some sort of sportsmanship in the game, or any game.

Except professional wrestling maybe

The funny thing is, it was actually for his team that Mbappe took a booking there to run the clock down and get them into the final.

I honestly can't understand why you have such an issue with this. It's the dying minutes of a World Cup semi, if you lose you may never get another chance to win it. And you can't understand why players try to run the clock down?

Next time you see a free kick given if it's near the opponent's box you may see defenders standing in front of the ball when they should be ten yards away. They do this so you can't take it quickly before your team is in position to defend. Do you have a problem with that too? If England conceded because of that and went out I would be furious at the player.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 07-10-2018 02:26 PM

yeah, any time in any game you see the leading team make a substitution, the player coming off will walk as slow as possible to the sideline. just the type of things that are done to ensure the team has the best chance to win.

just how the game - and any game for that matter, is played.

I understand why players would want to run the clock down, but don't kick the ball like you're still playing when you know you went out of bounds. At least run out the clock within the rules.

Sorry about Belgium btw. They had a great run.

boys fought hard and in the end im very proud. unfortunately this will be kompany’s last world cup, and guys like mertens and vertonghen aren’t getting any younger either, could very well be their final run. this was the year to win it really.

Are we all #TeamEngland tomorrow then?

Bit nervous here. I've never seen England in a semi final :o:. I watched Germany in 1996 but was too young to understand it all. There is a real positivity in England at the moment. Having our best summer in decades as well.

Come on England.
