na ofc they aren't creating them but they're definitely trying to build hype around them and turn them into a selling factor. just like Celtic/Rangers for example, i couldn't be bothered to watch a SPL game but i'll always tune in for one of their games because of the rivalry that accompanies it. i think if the MLS can somehow manage to build similar roots within their league they can have some appeal outside of NA, perhaps. obviously it won't happen overnight and it won't come anywhere near the most iconic rivalries in world soccer, but it definitely helps to build intrigue in a league that lacks it elsewhere.

European play offs:
Northern Ireland v Switzerland Croatia v Greece Denmark v Republic of Ireland Sweden v Italy ROI should do it, draw in Denmark then back to the Aviva and win, I believe this is the first World Cup they could qualify for, since 2002? I remember them losing a penalty shoot out in that World Cup. The Roy Keane carry on which he has never got over Really tough for NI. Don't really care about the other ties but if I could choose I'd pick Croatia and Italy. |

Korea/Japan was the first World Cup we could conceivably, not have won, by any means, but gone further than we have ever gone, in. Had it not been for Keane spitting out his dummy, which ruined everything. And believe it or not, gentle non-Irishmen, it was MICK MC CARTHY who ended up being hated in Ireland after that, NOT Keane! Un-****ing-believable.
(No, we haven't forgotten it, nor I feel will we ever; like the "Hand of God" courtesy of Henri that kept us out of the last one, and that fat sack of **** Blatter laughing about us on TV. ****.)

You must admit the 33rd team thing is hilarious though TH. You would be pissing yourself if England did something like that.
First leg of the play offs on Saturday by the way, 19:45 kick off, away to Denmark. Draw would be a good result. |

It was stupid is what it was. I don't actually have a serious problem with how stupid that was. Delaney was a stupid **** to even suggest it. It was that fat **** taking what was obviously meant to be a private request and embarrassing us about it all over the ****ing world. Said it before, I'll say it again: Blatter is a fat tub of ****, and a criminal too.
