I take it pretty easy on myself. I try to run most of a mile then casually run/walk for one or two more. It really just depends on whether I'm on a treadmill or outside.
If I'm on a treadmill I almost always hit the incline at about 6 on average if that means anything to anyone. In nature I enjoy hiking trails... or at least areas with a little elevation. That's a bit hard to come by around here. |

I used to run into the trail behind my house and around the loop that's also near my house. It would enerally take close to an hour and a half and Id probably run about an hour and 10 minutes of it. Just an estimate. I rarely walked. I just pushed myself.

I prefer biking around but I’m a bit trapped where I live now by busy streets and I’m too chicken**** to attempt it at rush hour, considering I don’t usually wear a helmet. I use to live right on a major cross city trail that would get you where you needed to go, I loved it.

Trails are so awesome to run on because you could go so many different routes. I live about 5 minutes away to a mountainous trail that leads to the powerlines. It's pretty spectacular and it's so close. I used to go up there and run for an hour. Or just to reflect. It's a place to go when you wanna get away from everything.

Indeed. The other thing I miss about running is that I used to run pretty early in the morning. And getting that in as the first thing you do during the day, it makes your entire day feel completely refreshed and different. And the shower afterwards when you've been out running in the cold air is the best thing next to well...*ahem*. But yeah. I should get back into running but ever since I got sciatica all the way down the leftmost part of my left leg, I can barely run anymore. Hell I can barely walk some days.
