I ran my first 5k on Saturday! I am still buzzing about it, I didn’t really do any training or anything so it wasn’t easy for my fat asthmatic ass but I did it!

HaHa! Good for you FETCHER !!
I'd be interested to know your time and other details, so I can compare:- I've done a few 5km. runs: always on Sunday mornings, always in the same absolutely flat city, and always in the "over 50s" category. Most often they've been organised about Christmas time, with an impressive turnout: serious contenders doing a 10km route, the 5km crowd straggling a little. My "run" was always jog for a bit, then walk, then jog again: repeat until you see the finish line or faint, whichever comes first. My time was usually about 45 mins, which put me somewhere in the middle of the pack.

I usually do intervals and build myself up but the 5km was booked quite last minute and I was inbetween running shoes so couldn’t really train until I bought myself some new ones ![]() It wasn’t a timed event but my watch tracked it as 40mins 56 seconds. It is called Ruff Dugger (lol) which is a trail/obstacle course for you to do with your dog so it was great fun for us both. All the volunteers around the course kept cheering my dog on because she’s so little ![]() Thank you both ![]() ![]()

...trail....obstacle course.... These are not the words I want to hear when I am considering going for a jog
![]() So 40 mins is a very impressive time. Congrats again to you and your dog !
