Too right they did.
I'll give you my reason for United's dip in form for the previous two games.
Paul Scholes!
His return after injury has been less than good for the reds.
Ferguson picked him ahead of Carrick, but had him play the holding midfield role so as not to disturb Anderson.
Bad mistake. He's not a defensive midfield player.
Spurs and City last two games and lucky to get a point.
Today he played Carrick in the holding role, which allowed the attacking players to get forward with him as the safety net.
Consequently...it was a rout.

Carrick isn't a great player, but as Eric once said...in football you need someone to play the piano and someone to carry it for you.
