Let me break it down for you: 1. Sterling is, as most fans will accept (even those of his team) a **** finisher 2. He gets stick for this. Any footballer would. 3. Ian Wright, who has, I accept, probably had to endure racist slurs in his career, comes out and says it's racist; the whole reason people are giving him **** is because he's black 4. Wright does not offer any evidence of this, but says "what else could it be?" 5. It MAY be the case - I'm not denying that or excluding it - but it also may not 6. Sterling may just be ****, and that has nothing to do with his colour 7. Just because a black man is criticised this does not automatically make it a racist attack. So, to sum up: yes, there may be racism behind what's being said of Sterling, but until some evidence of such is put forward (as in my previous posts) I won't be ready to write that off as the cause. He's just a **** footballer, and that doesn't change no matter what his colour. I'll bet that a large percentage of Man City fans, and England fans, don't give a curse what colour he is. They just want him to score more than he misses. I also would not be that surprised if some of the criticism is coming from black footy fans, though of course I don't know that.
