Ok, ok.....NFL loses. They need to change their name. Now check out the story and live with the humiliation already. Silly game.

Coming into an English Football thread, posting an article about the American team and then telling us all that it is a silly game is tantamount to suicide. I detest NFL but I have not once been in the NFL thread to proclaim so because it's just shit stirring and I would get my arse kicked all about the place, and quite rightly so. Maybe there is a moral in there somewhere?

If by "tantamount to suicide" is getting booted or disabling my account I'll go ahead and risk it. There is no reason why you can't go to an NFL thread and put in your opinion. If you have refrained from doing so is only evidence you are a better person than me in this regard. I don't really worry about getting my arse kicked all about the place. This is a forum afterall.
*But I appreciate your looking at the article.

I accept that and I admit my style is a bit provocative. I was looking more for some give and take on the two sports. I disagree that it is pointless having divergent opinions on a subject within the same thread.
Ok, this is an English football thread so here is my question. Why are there so many riots in this sport? Can anyone tell me anything useful about this?

Or Italian. English Football is generally classed as the safest these days. The 80's of course were not, but most mainland European football matches are in stadiums with fencing all around yet the English game is played very often completely open just a few feet away from the fans.

It is a general "football" question so a perspective from any particular country is not necessary.

The worst violence tends to be at local derbys.
If you ever want to go to a River Plate vs Boca Juniors match in Argentina you must have a screw loose. Same with Fenerbahce vs Galatasaray in Turkey. Ajax , Feynoord & PSV Eindhoven used to be very violent but new stadiums, CCTV & extra police have calmed those right down. I was in Amsterdam when Ajax opened their new stadium with a match against Feynoord. There was trouble everywhere , it sounded like there were bombs going off. And I wasn't even at the stadium. Same with Rangers & Celtic in Scotland , which was basically Protestant vs Catholic. The last game with violence I can remember with an English club was Roma vs Man Utd last year. But the Man Utd fans were on the end of it rather than giving it.
