It's not the spending of a club with a plan that's for sure.

Di Maria - £60m
Falcao - £6m loan w/ £44m buy option
Herrera - £30m
Shaw - £30m
Mata - £37m
Fellaini - £28m
Rojo - £16m (and still can't play

)
Blind - £14m

= £265m in the last year on players and still a gaping hole in defence and midfield. They are panicking now and just splashing out on glamour signings.

Of course there's a gaping hole in the defence. Shaw, Rojo and Blind are all left sided defenders...
