You're talking about actual world class strikers, there are only a very small handful of them anyway but surely Arsene could have got someone half decent in.
Man. City got Negredo for £16m. Tevez left Man. City. |

You named Negredo but he went to City, so he wouldn't be an option anyway. Tevez not an option because of his profile. We tried damn hard to sign Suarez and only didn't because Liverpool stuck to their guns and did superbly to keep hold of him.
But like I said, I am not on Wenger's side on this issue. The lack of a striker being signed in the summer or in January has potentially cost us Top 4 (I think the injuries themselves would have ruled out the title, even with somebody like Negredo) and he should be held accountable. If we win the FA Cup and then go and sign a proper World Class striker in the summer, next season could potentially be everything we perhaps misguidedly hoped for this season. And I think Wenger has earned the chance to manage the club when funds are actually available to him.

Wilfried Bony is a good one. One of the hottest properties in Europe, touted as the replacement for Benteke if he would have left.
Swansea nabbed him for £12m from Vitesse. David Villa - Atletico, about £2m . |

Thoughts on the Liverpool game? One allowed goal that should not have been for West Ham, one penalty that looked dodgy for Liverpool. Scales balanced? Is Gerrard one of the best penalty takers in England?

Ricky Lambert is up there, Lampard has a good technique. Leighton Baines always seems to score them. I would say van Persie is probably still the best to be honest. |

At Southampton yeah, I looked it up earlier. He's missed pens before that.
It's hard to argue with that record tbh but I just like van Persie's technique and execution, it's perfect (I know he missed one being cute and one in the 8-2 but fuck it). Spurs just gone 2-1 up so looks like that's it for Sunderland. Sherwood has one of those faces you just want to smack. |
