Think you guys have a real chance of winning in Brazil this year. Jesus, one team has three serious contenders in Rodriguez, Lallana, and Lambert. Must be the best possible team in a long time?
Rooting for the 'Pool tomorrow though. Would really like to see them do it. I think it would be even sweeter for them with Man U never going to have a chance to get near the title this year for the first time in absolute years. Wouldn't the Mancs hate that? Probably worse than if City do it. Or maybe not.

Walcott is a loss. We can do well if Woy picks the right squad. Don't really wanna think about it yet tbh though, there will be more injuries before the World Cup. Quote:

No I meant England. You've such a rich pool of players to pick and choose from now, you must be in with a decent shout.
And as an Irish boy, it hurts me to say that! ![]()

England have some great young players for sure, but the problem is the lack of a real "controlling" central midfielder. Chamberlain has the skill-set to play that role, but he is probably going to go in a different direction.
It's great having the likes of Barkley and Rodriguez, but without the ability to keep the ball in the way Spain, Brazil and Germany do, it becomes a hard task to achieve anything in International football.

Centre back isn't quite as strong as past tournaments either. We've always had real quality there for years and years. Rio, Terry, Woodgate, King, Campbell, Adams, Southgate etc include who you want but we have Cahill, Jagielka and Smalling now. Jones can play there and Lescott too but none are world class or on the cusp like is usually the case.
Left back though. Edit: Quarter final should be the target. Semis would be amazing. We won't win it. |
