The Rooney comment was tongue in cheek because of how high you rated him before. He's better for me, but quite hard to compare with Suarez. Ozil needs to be in the stronger team in a game to function anywhere near his best IMO, he's not like Suarez where Liverpool could punt a ball to him and he'd grab them all three points on his own. Really surprised Madrid are letting him go to be honest.

Most assists in Europe true, but stats don't show the whole picture. He's compared with Zidane but the fact is you know in big matches Zidane would be one of, if not the stand out player. Ozil never fully influences big games in the same way imo. He makes players look better than they are-just as world class players make his stats look better than they are. I mean I could notch up the assists if I was able to pass to Ronaldo for 50 games a season. He's no Pedro Beardsley either

I see, so all of his passes are extraordinary? Not one was a simple ball across the box, easier than a tap in, because he found himself unmarked due to the skill and danger posed by so many in the Madrid line up, or he received an exceptional pass from one of their other players? Dear me.

Lets not get carried away, of course I know Real Madrid have other World Class players. But he isn't a player that relies on others to look good, simply by the nature of how he plays. I am not saying every pass is world class, but the guy sets people up on a plate multiple times in a game, with passes that you wouldn't think were possible.

Alright then. Yeah, I'm not saying he only looks good because he's in a great team, my point was he is able to make his mark on the majority of games because Madrid boss almost all of them, and while he might have to compete to take them obviously he gets plenty of corner or drifted free kick opportunities. Arsenal are in the top bracket of the PL but it's not the same thing. No chance he will make the most assists in Europe this season for example and I'm not sure about his "big game" mentality. Still a massive improvement on what you had/have though.
