BBC Sports News
Wayne Rooney is a doubt for the World Cup after fracturing a metatarsal bone in his right foot during Manchester United's game against Chelsea.
Rooney has been told he could be out for six weeks, exactly the amount of time until England's first match against Paraguay on 10 June.

Rooney was stretchered off late in Man Utd's defeat at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Michael Owen was "not 100% happy" with his foot after returning from injury for Newcastle.

Newcastle caretaker boss Glenn Roeder revealed Owen's fears after he returned as a substitute at Birmingham.

Bolded the ones worth taking...all the rest are either unfit, or unfit to play in a World Cup.

God help us.

I see they passed me over for the job again.

Tonight sees United welcome back Roy Keane for his testimonial match V. Glasgow Celtic.

More than 20,000 Celtic fans are expected to make the journey.
Should be a cracking atmosphere there tonight, but I can't help wondering why a testimonial is being played for a player United dismissed not so long ago.

I don't begrudge him his night though, if anyone should be honoured by United, then it's this man.

bolded - ones i wouldnt take.

Now, this Walcott debate. i sit firmly in the "for" camp. Its quite obvious the boy is one hell of a talent. His finishing is incredible, his pace electrifying (he ran the 100 metres in 11.04 seconds at the age of 15) and his touch sublime. that is no exaggeration because ive seen him in a reserve game i went to with my grandad. he was impressive to say the least. nobody outside of Britian has heard of him - which will act in our favour as other countries will not know how to deal with him - he's our element of surprise. its a gamble yes, but i think it will be inspired.

I was talking about the Walcott debate this morning at work and I'm beginning to see the sense.
Assuming he plays, my guess is this lad will play without fear.
Also, everytime Sven has picked a player that's raised a few eyebrows, their initial few games are usually good.
Vassell springs to mind.

I have a sneaky feeling he will be lucky to play though. Got a hunch my man Rooney will make it yet.

I`m not bothered so much about Wallcott , If I was that desperate I would have taken him too , but only if Owen or Rooney were unavailable.

I still want to know why the hell Hargreaves & Jenas are being picked when people like Phil Neville , Joey Barton , Matty Etherington & Scott Parker are being overlooked.
