Benteke was quality though, I assume this means you'll be keeping Bent?
I don't know. Wouldn't be surprised to see him leave.

I'd be happy if the club got 30mil and reinvested it although not sure what a reasonable price would be for him as I'm biased.

The ball is in Villa's court. They can demand silly money and if they don't get it Benteke probably has to play and score anyway as it's a World Cup year.

I find it pretty hard to determine what a players price should be as well, it's really all down to how desperate the buying clubs are. How many years did he sign with you for? I doubt you'd get 30mil for one season, mainly because I think he is very suited to the PL over other leagues and I don't think there is a side here that would fork that out. If Liverpool sell Suarez though I'd expect bids of 20mil for him.

It is difficult to measure expectations when it comes to transfer fees. I don't even mean judging how much you think someone is worth in the modern market, but how much you might realistically be able to receive or pay.

Connor Wickham cost us around the same amount of money as we have sold Mignolet for. We sold Mignolet to Liverpool, who also gave us more than twice that for Jordan Henderson. Jordan Henderson was great for us, his performances trailed off somewhat towards the end of his time here, and he hasn't been up to the task for the most part at Liverpool, but one thing I am completely certain of is that he wasn't as valuable to that Sunderland squad as Migs was to this one. If bringing in Di Canio helped us to keep us up by the skin of our teeth, Migs is the reason we were still able to do that with seven games of the season left.

Yeah, Mignolet was immense for you last season fair play. I think the thing with those examples is that keepers rarely fetch what they are *worth* to a side and strikers are always "overpriced" for whatever reasons those are-I'm pretty sure that's a point in that "soccernomics" book/theory although I've never really read it. The other big factor for the EPL is nationality-if they are English and especially if they are young, their price rockets well out of their value. Liverpool are the perfect example. Look at Carroll and look at Suarez. Look at Hendo and look at Coutinho.

Four years, we got one ffs

Not really angry just thought he'd at least give us another one but oh well. I suppose he doesn't really owe us anything, he kept us up and we're going to get a load of profit for him.

I think the club value him at 30mil. If that's what they get then just spunk it on another jewel in the crown, show your intent and live a little ffs.

Sad that his probably last act in a Villa shirt was getting a red card against Chelsea.

Yeah no loyalty anymore I'm afraid

I reckon you'd get 30 mil from a Russian side for him but as I say Prem clubs tend to be a bit more wary nowadays...other than city or chelski but I'm not sure he would suit City and Chelsea already have Lukaku to build up.

Where's Rooney going to go? I just get the feeling he wants to move on, the only hope Man U have of keeping him is that the anti English tyrant is no longer there, and maybe he'll be allowed to play for his country in friendly matches now and not have to pretend he's injured just to keep on Fergies good side.

Surely he wont go to Paris, he's far too good to be wasting his career in a second rate league like the French league isn't he? It says one of two things about you if you choose to go play in France, you're either only motivated by money or you're finished and can no longer hack it in a top class league.

I can see him playing for Arsenal, I think that'd be a good move for him. His wife would probably be happy because she'd be living in that London rather than plasticy Manchester.

If he ends up at Chelsea I'll be very disappointed, I know he isn't the sharpest tool in the box but I've never had him down as a shallow wanker, and you have to be incredibly shallow to even consider playing for Chelsea.

He'd be more than welcome at Leeds haha, but we have a written test before you can join us and I'm not sure he'd pass it, he makes Beckham look like a quantum physics expert. Anyway, as soon as a scouser appears things start to go missing don't they, first its your trainers then your wallet and then your car, I think its best all round if he buggers of to that London, they deserve him.
