Always one to see the cloud in the silver lining, eh Fluff? Let's just enjoy it while it's there shall we? Chances are he will be gone but let's hope he can keep us in the top tier before he heads off to Man U or Arsenal or wherever. Good players never stay at Villa (cough) Dwight Yorke! (cough)

Fully deserved.
Everything we have had in Di Canios first three games we were lacking at Villa Park. That's as bad and unorganised a performance as any under MoN or Bruce. I would have been happy with a point there. I was more confident about the derby and am more confident about Stoke and Southampton at home than I was about Villa away and getting beat there isn't anything to be ashamed of. I am however ashamed of the nature of the defeat, the severity of it and the quality of performance, which was absolutely dire. That said, I think I care more about Sessegnon missing the last three games. I doubt an appeal will get us what we want, but I'm really not having that that was a red card. Plus without Sessegnon and Fletcher, and with Wickham currently injured (hopefully will be back by next Monday, for an option at least) we're left with one striker, who doesn't score goals. |

I do feel for you. mojo. The only thing that diminishes my joy is that it was your guys we beat. But still... WHAT A RESULT! I thought DiCanio did well in his interview, though you could see he was furious: I mean, the last two goals, just given away. I also agree that I don't think it was a red card, very harsh and most unwelcome when you're doing your best to avoid the drop.
Of course, we're not safe either yet, but our goal defecit has been all but wiped out and I think we have a really good chance now. I just hope it's not at your expense.

With Reading and Wigan facing the drop, it looks like Saints will stay up. It's ironic really as Reading initially seemed the most likely to survive.

Um, Reading are already relegated...? It's Sunderland, Newcastle, Wigan and Norwich now I think. Plus us, if we're stupid and get complacent in the last few games....
