Thought he was crap tonight. Rolled the ball into an empty net though, world class finish so kudos to him.
Neymar was crap as well. As was Ronaldinho. Wilshere was awesome. Yep. Likeable player as well, comes across as very intelligent. |

This is one of those instances where blind hatred can get the best of you. Rooney has been exceptional as of late. I did chuckle at the Rooney rendition of Unforgettable, but the guy deserves credit when his game is on, as much as he deserves credit when he is invisible.

How is that bollocks? Rooney's goals come in patches for a start, he scores loads for a few weeks then none for a month. Repeat. His career has constantly been like that, shifting between playing well and playing awful and the latter is more frequent.
If Rooney got back to back seasons where he was consistent, in the same sort of form he had in 2009/10, then there would be no doubt he is world class. Van Persie, Messi, Xavi, Ronaldo, you name the truly world class players... They have all been consistently good at the top level. Rooney hasn't. |
