Rooney has to start against spurs, was great tonight, united really missed him and his... Erm?

No but his ability to... Erm?

No but his link up play with... Erm.

Well at least you can always rely on him from the penalty sp... Oh.

Absolutely appalling again. What does he do exactly? Giggs at 39 looked at the peak of his physical fitness tonight, rooney on the other hand looks ruined at more than 10 years his junior.

Cue long and angry reply from Right-Track, when he gets back from the pub...

Rooney is a far superior footballer compared to Giggs. There was a time when Giggs was getting dropped for the likes of Forlan and Fortune. That would never be the case with Rooney.

I know rooney is better now goofle. My point is rooney is disgustingly overrated and does not care about his fitness as much as he should do. He is overhyped because he is the england center forward and our one great hope.

Look at somebody like ronaldo (the slave, not the brazilian) and compare their differing attitudes to the game. Rooney is a chain smoking binge drinker in the off season and admits turning up to training overweight at pre season. Ronaldo on the other hand has worked tirelessly on his all roubd game and does extra work in the gym. Superb athlete.

Rooney isnt as good as people think he is. He will be burned out by the time he is 30.

EDIT - I just read that back and I think it comes across as rude, apologies if so.

I don't see that as rude, apart from the fact you seem to be saying someone owns Ronaldo (the slave)!!!!

Rooney hasn't exactly faced any stiff competition for places though.

Stems from those comments Blatter made pre-Madrid; Ronnie co-signed them which was a bit daft:

I am a slave, says Ronaldo as he pushes for Madrid move | Football | The Guardian

Quote:
Blatter, an honorary member of Real Madrid with close ties to the club's president, Ramón Calderón, had described himself as "very much in sympathy" with Ronaldo and urged United to allow him to leave, suggesting it was otherwise tantamount to slavery. "I agree with what he said," said Ronaldo, when that last point was put to him. "It's true. I agree with what the president of Fifa said. I know what I want and what I would like. We have to see what happens. I do not know where I will begin next season."
I loved Ronnie but he really disappointed me that summer. He handled the whole thing badly.

Fluffy Kittens, you need putting in a sack and throwing in the nearest canal for comments like that!

Granted, Rooney has had a dip in form, followed by a recent injury, but you don't become a bad player overnight.
Rooney's form will return, no doubt about that!

As for Giggs...don't make me laugh. Anderson ran his heart out to cover for Giggs in midfield. He can't get close enough to the opposition, defensively, to begin with and allowed far too much space for West Ham to operate.
It's one of the reasons they ran United so close.
Ironically, he looked like the only player capable of creating chances.
In short, he had half a good game.

Last I checked Rooney as bad as hes been apparently was one behind Hernandez for second on the team in goals scored with 7. Wish we could all be that bad.
