I am not a huge fan of Rooney's passing all round, he is just much better than Falcao in that regard.

This is something that is frowned upon in possession based styles of play, which you would assume Rodgers is going for.

I think I have stuck up for Allen around three times as well. Hardly anything to get annoyed about, I just rate him. I was also somebody who rated Lucas from the moment he joined Liverpool because I appreciated what he brought to the team, even if the vast majority of people took three years to finally grasp it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it Gerrard's (missed) shot that set up the goal for Liverpool in the first place? And every time I heard Joe Allen's name called in the commentary it was to the tune of "Oooh! Bad pass by Allen!" or "Allen gives away the ball!" I didn't once hear him get any praise.

Well general statements of opinion from me wouldn't do anything to change your mind would it?

Stats help when you seem to think allen is making loads of excellent short passes helping the game. He's making fewer passes than the other midfielders, shorter passes, no assists, lost possession more often and poor clearances.

Ratings, he's consistently rated lower than the others anywhere you look by fans and "official" ones.

True, their opinion isn't more valid. But if I remember correctly in another thread you said you consider yourself to have better football acumen than most? When the vast majority of people watching, commentators, former players, and analysers of football day in and out share an opinion you don't share it can sometimes be an indicator you might not be right, especially if the stats back them up.

I remember being impressed with him when he first played for City a several seasons ago, it's always amazing how a talented player can let it all go like he did.

He reminded me of Kaka at certain points in his career. Shame.

Just suffered through the Villa/Bradford game (got my telly back so was able to access my Sky box) --- man, we just threw it away, didn't we? Some great attempts on target it has to be said, but if they don't end up in the back of the net they may as well be in row Z. Bradford played well, but we gifted them the goals, which is to take nothing from their brave and solid performance.

I seriously doubt we'll turn it around next week. Big pressure, but it seems we fold like umbrellas under pressure these days. Even Bent couldn't score and he was only on for a short time. He'll be leaving soon I'd say.

Oh, and Goofle? See? I told ya: Kompany's red card overturned by the FA. Dangerous tackle my arse!
