Downing, henderson, cole, carrol, adam....
It may be a bad start. It sounds cliche but we've haven't had the run of the green. We've been creating plenty of chances and playing some good football though. Hodgson - really negative football, we may have had better results but we were never going to improve. Hoofing it up the field and hope torres gets it every game. Kenny - awful signings, attacking football but few chances. Rodgers - Passing football, a bit shaky at the back, plenty of chances, missed out on a striker. I think it's they way forwards though even if allen hasn't exactly been impressing. |

What's going on with Drogba, he was being linked with you lot in January I think. There was talk of Torres going back too (think he's off to Atletico w/ Falcao going the other way tbh.)
Not impressed with Sterling either. I don't get his hype. At all. |

Drogba can't come back from china now anyway for the rest of the season. Torres has lost it, I don't want him back, it's just not gonna happen.
Sterling is showing real promise for a seventeen year old, running at and beating defenders (what downing was supposed to do) even if his decision making is a bit off, he's still young. Personally I think berbatov could be perfect. He looks a bit frustrated at fulham, he scores goals and I think he'll compliment suarez nicely. Bent's another possibility, but only for a loan really. Carrol's injured after scoring once so there's not even any point in trying to terminate the loan deal with him. Ideally we'd discover someone like michu for a cool 2 million.... |

Bent would be a good signing depending on the fee, bizarre what's happening with him at the moment. |

I feel so far allen has basically been a poor man's lucas from 3 years ago. Simple sideways passes, and a bit of a liability defensively. I'll wait and see what he can do creatively now that lucas is back.
Drogba's business was announced maybe two weeks ago, it was rejected by the F.A. I don't think berba would leave fulham after half a season..at least not for liverpool...but hopefully I'm wrong. Perhaps at the end of the season if fulham continue to slump. Bent's a safe bet to help us see out the season in the top 8 at least I would recon. Shouldn't be too hard to get either, don't get what his manager's up to. |

Allen is there to make those simple passes (which isn't that easy). Gerrard has been a liability for around four years, completely disrupts any style of play based around intelligent football.

Allen has ONLY been able to make simple sideways passes so far, and loses the ball far too often in midfield in our half. See the last match before lucas arrived for examples.
As for Gerrard.... stats are comparing liverpool players... 2012 - 2013 Joint 2nd highest number of assists Only player other than suarez to score more than once 2011-2012: Joint 3rd highest goalscorer Joint 3rd highest assists 2010-2011 Joint 4th goalscorer Joint 2nd assists 2009 -2010 2nd highest goalscorer highest number of assists Some stats show a slight decrease in the performance of other players passing rates etc. Well, gerrard playing is obviously better for the result than henderson making one less succesful challenge. As for some stats from last season showing the win rate decreasing when gerrard started, he was injured and so kenny had to save him for the harder opposition which he would start against, and try rest him against easier teams. Has anyone else been a bit disappointed with RVP recently? He's been missing a few sitters and scoring the difficult ones. Needs to become more clinical, as daft as it sounds.
Looking forward to Stoke at the weekend. Hope Villa smash them. |
