You best look after him! I think he's a really promising player, I wanted to see him get chances this season. He can play anywhere in the midfield, really useful player to have. I only wanted to keep him and to buy Rodwell because Carrick's performances have been below par. If he regains form, then panic over. If he doesn't, then we're in trouble. Our Cleaverly is a really great signing for you lot, I'll be keeping my eye on Wigan a lot more than previous. Blackburn seem to be looking after Diouf, but I think we'll cash in on him.

I have a feeling Bobby'll be using him on the right side of midfield. After his desperate attempts to leave, I don't think Zog's gonna get his place in the starting 11 back very easily. It's just as well too - judging by the win at Spurs, we won't miss him much. I'd never heard of Cleverly before yesterday, but I hope he does well. Speaking of newer recruits, I've been really impressed with Ron Stam at right-back (pretty much the only bright spot of the Chelsea and Blackpool games of late), so he'll have some great support at least.

As far as keeping an eye on Wigan goes, if we don't lose to Sunderland this weekend I'll, I dunno, legally change my name to Susan or something.

Well, next weekend. As its Euro qualifiers this weekend. But i wouldn't be so sure mate. If i was a betting man I would back us to win too but we haven't had the best of starts to the season and I never know what to expect from Wigan.

Oh yeah, it's the start of the Euros isn't it? I've been so indifferent to Capello & co since that apology of a world cup campaign that I forgot. At least Terry and Lampard are injured and won't be wasting their places in the starting 11...at least for a little while

And, trust me, if there's one thing I learned from the fantastic highs and horrible lows of last season, it's not only that Bushmills and dry Vermouth make an amazing cocktail, but also that Wigan never string successive wins together - you're in the clear

BBC Sport - Football - Wigan 1-1 Sunderland

Get in!!

I guess you could call it two points dropped against 10 men, especially given the chances the latics had but this, the win at Spurs and Hartlepool have been huge improvements on the first two games of the season. With any luck, this is a sign of some long overdue consistency creeping into the side.

If Mauro Boselli could stop playing like he's got a bag over his head I can see the lads really pushing things forward this season...slightly.

I'm fucking disgusted. They need to take a serious look in the mirror and ask themselves serious questions. Teams who want to become champions don't throw away 2 points like that, Arsenal would've passed it around for the 3 minutes, Chelsea would've been physical and gritty enough to hold on. Absolute shambles. An easy game next weekend against Liverpool though.

Plus points, if there are any...

Berbatov and Scholes were both wonderful.

Strachan hoping to Sex up his misfiring Boro Pistols

Gordon Strachan has turned to punk legend John Lydon to stop Boro’s Rotten form and get them on the Rise.

The Boro boss could be wrong, or he could be right.... but he’s told his squad: “Anger is an energy.”

Strachan is a big fan of one-time Sex Pistol Lydon and met him at a music festival recently. And he’s using his famous lyrics to get his team winning, and improve his limited Public Image, starting with a win against Burnley tonight.

Boro have slumped to 20th in the Championship nine points behind fellow big spenders Cardiff and QPR.

Wee Gord said: “Anger is an Energy. I saw Public Image Ltd a couple of weeks ago. That’s what reminded me. I like that. It is true. We fell away in the second half at QPR and that is a problem we have to deal with.

“I hope we are angry because anger IS an energy, as Lydon said. We are angry with ourselves – there is no one else to blame.

“We can all give sound-bites but it doesn’t mean anything. It is only actions that count and at the moment our actions are not good enough. It’s up to me to get it right. If it is not right then eventually it falls on my head.”
WTF?

They'll do nothing at this level with a football mentality like that. Pointless team.

Anti-Football. Almost laughable.

Especially when words like gritty and determined and organised are getting thrown around.

No intent to actually play the game of football, just sat there and parked the bus.
