They were rather good apart from Carew who missed a sitter. Joe Hart was superb for Man City today too. Man City looked a shambles and so they should. Far too much money spent with no emphasis on cohesion. I give Balotelli 6 months until he does a Robinho and proclaims that life in Manchester is dour. Who can blame him eh?

The situation they find themselves in is interesting as it could work out for them but it could also really backfire on them. They would have had too big a squad for this new rule as it was and yet they have still spent over £100m in the window and counting. Now the size of their squad is just insane considering you have to name only 25. There are obvious possible advantages of course, as Mancini is really spoiled for choice right now and they have a lot of depth in every position on the field. However i doubt i'm the only one that thinks this could blow up in their face. Yes, there will be competition for places which is not such a bad thing but the fact is that they simply can't keep every player they have. They will have to let a lot of talent leave. Shay Given all of a sudden finds himself on the bench which is brand new to him. He's also getting on a bit and won't want to spend the last years of his career sitting on their bench so of course he is going to state that he wants to leave. Bellamy i think was voted their player of the season last season and he might not even make the cut? Of course he is gonna voice his opinions to the press as the club continues to spend money so carelessly. There could be a lot of unrest in the club. And what about the players that don't make the cut? Where are they gonna go? They wont find a club willing to pay the wages they are getting at City. Mancini is going to be under a lot of pressure. It has disaster written all over it. I think the next few weeks will define their season. I think they will benefit from the transfer window closing and Mancini naming his 25 man squad. Once he has 25 players to work with and they start to get frequent games together then theres no reason why, on paper at least, he cant name a squad capable of getting a result anywhere against any opposition. It just depends whether anything happening off the field starts to affect whats happening on it. |

He's already said he doesn't particularly want to be there. I fully support his move though, the more prima donnas there are in the premiership for my entertainment the better!

Hehe well i certainly have my issues with Spurs but i do think they have been a good team to watch over the last few seasons and i would prefer to see them go through. They have been dreadful, although the goal they got back just before half time could help towards them getting out of bother here before the second leg.
