The rivalry between these two sets of fans is and has always been, rather one sided, in that Leeds United fans seem to be under the impression that we, 'the only United' are their closest and bitterest rivals.
The truth of the matter couldn't be further from the truth.
Yes, Man United fans hate the Leeds with a passion, but not because we consider them rivals, but because they are a shower of irritating, wannabe non entities that ride on the back of the glorious name of Manchester United.
They have no reason whatsoever to hate United. I've got more time for City and Liverpool fans when it comes to these matters, as they have a valid reason and the feelings are definately mutual.
To me, these are the true football rivalries and not the imaginations of jealous sheep shagging Leeds fans looking to fabricate a football rivalry on a par with Celtic/Rangers.
We don't care about you! We don't consider you a rival on any level!
Stick to hating Huddersfield Town or some other inbred Yorkshire footballing back water dwarf of a club.
Fuckin' tykes!
They were our rivals in 1999, until we beat them 3-2 at Old Trafford and ended their hopes of a title and then we went on to win the treble. I've got more time for City fans than Leeds fans, my best mate is a City fan. They can just be very bitter at times, Leeds fans take bitterness to a whole other level though. But still I'd take a Leeds fan over Liverpool any day.

Shameful for saying otherwise! Liverpool is the worst place I've ever been to. I went in the shopping centre and you could just see a swarm of red and blue shirts, trackie bottoms and you could hear a lot of squeeking because of their accent. Horrible place. I'm 18 and I talk to Liverpool fans around my age and they think their team are currently a massive club because of what their team did in the 80s, before they were born.

You can`t trust those scousers, they`re a light fingered bunch, bolt your valuables down when they`re around.

0-1 down at half time and I'm fuming.
Brown is not a centre half. Welbeck is not a winger and neither Anderson nor Gibson know how to play anchor midfield. The back four need a Carrick or a Fletcher to hold everything together.
Classic case of Fergie not respecting a lower divisional side.
2nd half had better be better!

I used to work with a guy from Liverpool a couple of years ago and he used to have what looked like a 1970-1980's Souness/McDermott hair perm

Utd never take the cups that seriously and just concentrate on the main two competitions, despite the statement being obvious, its certainly the key to their success.

Well that's it.

United could have fielded a team that would have despatched this Leeds side within the first 20 minutes.
Instead they chose to field a team peppered with reserves that couldn't do the job that was needed.
Why does he never win a game first and then rest his 1st choice players later in the match instead of doing things the other way round?
It just doesn't make sense.
