I agree with you jackhammer. I think there have been far too many workmanlike performances recently and Utd have really struggled to break teams down. Excluding the Chelsea game which I think we played really well in considering it was always going to be tight, I don't think we are getting the ball into wide areas quickly enough so as to isolate opposition full-backs. Also the quality of crossing, in particular from Nani has been dire...

It would be nice though to see a result that isn't blighted by the official's poor performance so that the focus shifts to our deficiencies.

Fletcher has been a shining light this season for you and there is no doubt that you will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season but no matter how you gloss it, Ronaldo seems to be a very big loss for you this season. In fact I lay blame once again at the challengers who have had the opportunities to get into the top 4 such as Spurs and Villa (my team) failing to capitalise on slips by bigger teams.

wickedlk 11-10-2009 06:25 PM

Yeah Fletcher is the main man at the moment and rightly so. Shame his ankle is a mess and will need to be sorted at some point, good thing he's Scottish :)

It's a shame that the challengers aren't consistent enough, especially Villa (I've a bit of a soft spot for them) as they have a strong core of young English players who would only benefit from top-level European football. Carew was awesome on the weekend too, better stay away from those strip clubs! Oh yeah and a challenger coming 4th would mean Liverpool going bankrupt :D

How can anyone say they've been under performing?
3rd in the league?
United are always slow starters and don't come good until after the new year.
If anyone cares to look at previous seasons stats at this stage of the season, I doubt things would look much different.

As Jackhammer said you will be there or there abouts all season but as much as i hate to admit it, and as much as i like Valencia, you just dont look to have the same threat from midfield anymore.

I mean, if everyone's on their game then Giggs, Valencia, Fletcher, Scholes etc is more than enough and i know you don't just replace Ronaldo and the amount of goals he provided from the midfield but at times this season ive been questioning whether they have what it takes.

when i'm not supporting rangers i always look for west hams results, they have brilliant fans, always a great atmosfear at the Ann boleyn stadium, and try to play football, they've had some tremendous players over the piece, dicanio, lampard, cole, just to name a few....

A great team for a neutral to watch. They have some really exciting footballers like Cole and Parker, then most especially Hines and Diamanti. Diamanti at the moment is my favourite player to watch along with Fabregas and R. Dunne.

I'm intersted to hear what goodfoot's thoughts are about the possibility of 'the old firm' playing in an expanded Premier League.
Discussions start this week...

I say let them both rot in the SPL personally.

wickedlk 11-11-2009 12:45 PM

They should have to work their way up through the football league to maintain some sort of fairness to those clubs battling it out in the lower divisions. So what if it's not financially viable, no free passes to distinctly average football clubs. :nono:

Just stumbled across this. Grimsby must really suck
