Ok I've been watching the matches and they've been great, but do any of you that follow more closely agree with the rule of Barc moving on because of the whole aggregate goal stuff. To me, that is just plain ridiculous, and a rule like that would never stand in America. Settle it on the field, not with some statistic mumbo jumbo.

Remember though mate that Chelsea did have the same benefit for the first match at Barce so it is fair. I have no problem with the away goal as a way of separating teams in the event of a draw in European matches, its not even that complicated either, its not like it was a surprise to Chelsea they went out on the away goals rule, they ran that risk after not scoring in the first match. |

I think it's a fair rule. As has just been stated European games are played over two legs so both teams have the opportunity to both play a leg infront of their own fans with the home advantage and to get an away goal. It's a much better way to decide a winner if the match is drawn than a penalty shoot out.

The away goal rule's pretty fair to be honest. A lot better than penalties, as a few of us have already mentioned. It also makes the games that little bit more exciting to watch, knowing like Chelsea fans did last night that one Barca goal would completely f*ck their campaign up (as, of course, it did).

To be fair if it was in America it would probably get settled with a multi-ball or something.
