I have to say that I was very impressed with England last night. We played the 'English' way i.e-we dictate the pace and pop it around the pitch quickly. If the game slows down we are not as effective and most teams know this and stifle us (and why should'nt they?) but if we play as though it's the Premeirship we can be a damn handful. Lampards goal should have stood too.

We passed it well, moved well off the ball, created space, took on the full backs, Walcott's pace was outstanding and in the final third we ripped their defence open. We never really looked in any danger. It was as close to a perfect performance as we've seen from our national team in years.

Good result for the Villa but the table is ridiculously tight ATM. Spurs are looking ropey though.

Newcastle will be joining Spurs at the bottom over the next couple of weeks.

I reckon Stoke will struggle.
But I reckon they will manage to stay up just.
They showed great spirit on Sat.
