Why So Many Great Empty Seats- Yankee Stadium
I'm watching the Red Sox game. One would think there would be a demand for good seats. Looking around there are a ton of open great seats. That would never happen at Fenway Park

Funny you post that, and I don't know anything about your sports, but although it's a different sport there was sh1tload of empty seats at Wembley today and all, for a cup semi final. Reason for that was the exec section probably didn't sell out as the fixture wasn't glamorous enough/is in the middle of the camera view so looks worse and also Wigan won't sell out their allocation as they are a small club. Having the semis at Wembley - worst idea of all time. Your comment 'that would never happen at...' rings true here too, would never have happened at Villa Park.
Birmingham launches national stadium bid - Telegraph http://images.icnetwork.co.uk/upl/ic...BFB6FA0399.jpg Two thirds wanted the national stadium/Wembley in Brum, a fraction of the cost of the actual Wembley (£324m to £757m). But no, what London wants, London gets. And four years late as well . |
I'm watching Red Sox White Sox. Way worse in their stadium. What is up with that. The prices of Yankees tix drove some away. White Sox do the same?

With the exception of Red Sox vs. Yankees games and postseason games, there were plenty of empty seats at the Red Sox games I attended last year at Fenway Park during the regular season. The poor performance of the team in 2012 probably had a lot to do with lackluster attendance, but I also wonder how much of that was due to ticket prices. Looking at the ticket pricing for this season, I wouldn't be surprised to see the same thing happen this year even with the 2013 World Series Championship title.
