As an England fan this is a discussion that comes up every two years and in my opinion it is far better to have a quality manager (which Klinsmann is, and he does genuinely love the USA) of any nationality than an average one of your own. Would kill for the Sven years again.

A US World Cup win is decades away. It's as good a chance as they've ever had but it's just not going to happen tbh. They've done well in this tournament & are no longer a laughing stock but if they went out now they could be happy with what they've achieved.

They can piss all over Belgium though.

You're kidding me?
Belgium will make short work of them, they've scored a 100% record thus far without ever coming out of second gear.
I reckon they'll up their efforts greatly against USA and will walk the game.
They were considered everyone's dark horses for a reason.

They looked pedestrian playing the likes of Algeria and Russia ranked 22nd and 19th in Fifas rankings. The US by comparison played the number 2 and 4 teams in Germany and Portugal and looked competitive. Belgium will not make short work of them. The Belgians don't really have any menacing names on the their roster whatsoever, although Mertens looks to have good pace and ability. I'm calling a US victory, no way do they lose to Belgium.

To clarify, whether they will or not is a different thing entirely.

Belgium were considered dark horses simply because they look good on paper. Take Kompany for example, the best CB in the world who is at fault for a ton of goals. And they have a useless oaf up front and not the legend from B6.

The hype reminds me of a certain team from 2006 who also looked good on paper. Plus nobody had actually seen them play (figure of speech but you get what I mean). They walked the qualifiers, so did we in 2009. They were being built up totally on paper. They have struggled while the US have played decent stuff against better teams.

This game can go either way ftr, but the US can definitely beat them.

Jammy twats got through .

Calling it now, whoever wins out of Colombia and Uruguay will slap their cocks all over Brazil and go through.

Feel really bad for Chile. First big loss of the tournament I'd say, they were a great team.

Absolutely disgusting goal from Rodriguez.

I wouldn't be surprised if the USA beat Belgium but I don't think they will, as Belgium have a better set of players and normally when Belgium have a good team they usually only get beat by one of the big names. It wouldn't surprise me though if the game went to ET and Pens.

Btw its called 'squad' and not 'roster' ;)
