Suarez!

Suarez decision tonight or tomorrow.

If he is found guilty, he can appeal and if he appeals he will still be able to play in the World Cup .

His attitude was shamefully pathetic. The lad seems to be quick-tempered: somebody get him a psychologist! Joking apart, a serious ban would serve him right. Still, I was overjoyed to see Uruguay help Italy crash out of the cup: many of us root for Uruguay here (Uruguay used to be a part of Argentina; some people usually celebrate their goals at pubs here in Buenos Aires just as if Uruguay was still a part of our country).
Anyway, I'm looking forward to Saturday: Brazil v Chile, and Colombia v Uruguay are going to be unmissable games. And Holland v Mexico on Tuesday will certainly be a must-see! Predictions? I'd better lay off predictions: I was absolutely sure the cup would go to Spain or to England.

Netherlands through with relative ease imo. Robben is on the kryptonite.

We play Germany at 5pm UK time (we only need a draw to go through), it's 3 and a half hours from now if you're somewhere else in the world.

'The victory over Ghana attracted the biggest US television audience for a football match - 16m people. The draw with Portugal smashed that record with an average of 24.7m viewers and the match against Germany in Recife is expected to surpass even that.'

I saw footage of live screenings in some of the big cities in the US, Chicago may have been one of them, and it was just as impressive as it would be over here.

On the Suarez situation, this is a compelling read - Portrait of a serial winner - Luis Suarez is soccer's most beautiful player

There seems to be an odd compulsion with people to support USA this year, I don't get it.
To me, all three of the other teams in their group are instantly more likable and it's more enjoyable for them to just get pumped.
They've not got a great squad, nor do they particularly bring any excitement or character to proceedings to entice the backing of neutrals.
I want to see more of Ronaldo this tournament so hoping Portugal pull it off tonight.

Ghana completely fell apart and sent home Boateng and Muntari, lol. That's them out then.

I said before the WC kicked off I could see the US finishing in 2nd so that's partly why I'm backing them.

Ghanaians are annoying (UK based ones anyway, seem to have some strange obsession with trying to get one over England, every time without fail), Portugal I have no real feeling about either way though it will be funny if Ronaldo doesn't even score and Germany are quality but massive favourites and I like an underdog.

USA finish 2nd and qualify .
