But Rooney does score goals. I know his record at major tournaments isn't good but it wasn't in 2009 either.

Rooney tends to either score a lot of goals and get few assists, or drop back into a supporting role and get more assists but obviously less goals as a result. At no point have the goals dried up though.

I wouldn't drop either Rooney or Sturridge. But I would have the former in behind the latter and two wide players.

Rooney ranting on FB .

He's going to start on Thursday and I'll be delighted if he proves me wrong and scores the winner.

Glad to see Brazilian Ronaldo so high. I was watching his old videos at PSV, Barca and Inter before the World Cup started & I think had he not had those injuries, he would have been the best ever.

Things still worked out OK for him I guess though.

Messi would still have been ahead of him but maybe he would have surpassed Pele/Maradona.

Van Basten slays all four.

Hart vs Pirlo - YouTube

Love that . Ball boys take the piss at times, you don't see them time wasting when Brazil need a goal.

Fantastic world cup so far. Really surprised and disappointed by Brasil, Argentina and Spain, but otherwise a brilliant tournament. England were pretty poor but I've taken to expecting that.
