Barkley in the photoshoot. Good to see he is going. Absolute superstar potential.

World Cup is not ready - Fifa official - BBC Sport

Hehe.

They should have a stadium cap when it comes to bidding. No more than two can be proposed grounds.

Building all these new grounds and for what, loads of people dying and then struggling to make use of them after. Qatar is predicted to be deadlier than 9/11 was with thousands dying.

Do the right thing for everyone and host it in Britain.

Or put an end to International football and have a proper club tournament in the summer

Never

Internationals are good when the games actually matter, and they've announced the Nations League now which seems to be trying to fix the problem of meaningless friendlies.

Christian Benteke has ruptured his Achilles tendon and is out for a MINIMUM of six months. He will miss the World Cup.

I can't believe this . He must be gutted.

We have had no ****ing luck with injuries this season.

Big shame, but shouldn't have too much of an impact for club or country. Villa won't go down and Belgium had little to no chance of doing anything anyway, and losing their second best striker shouldn't really change that.

We are safe. We could probably lose all our remaining games and still stay up.

Tekkers > Lukaku though.

Blimey, there's almost no pre world cup atmosphere here; 1st time since I was born... looks as though this time not even such an event wil help our beleaguered -as it were- politicians hush up the fact that the country is nearly on fire again... or it might be that the team absolutely sucks.

World Cup 2014: Roy Hodgson says England will risk defeat

England manager Roy Hodgson has said his side will not play with fear during this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

They play Italy in their opening Group D game on June 14, followed by matches against Uruguay and Costa Rica.

Hodgson, who has been criticised for his conservative tactics, said: "We will be brave, we will believe in ourselves and we will risk defeat.

"We have to allow our players to express themselves in the same way they do in the top Premier League teams."

England lost on penalties to Italy the last time they met in a major tournament, at Euro 2012, after the game finished goalless over 120 minutes.

Hodgson told Talksport: "We won't try and sneak our way through the games because I think with the type of players we have that wouldn't suit us.

"I don't think you will see England sit back against Italy."
Quote:
Hodgson added: "The introduction of many of the younger players has given us an injection of pace and has given us the injection of good technical ability."

England name their 23-man World Cup squad on 13 May.
