You think you feel wrong about your final four...

Louisville
Indiana

Wisconsin :bonkhead:
Georgetown.... whose was my national champion :bonkhead: :bonkhead::bonkhead:

Janszoon 03-24-2013 09:59 PM

I feel like it's kind of funny that I'm not even sure what sport this thread is about.

djchameleon 03-24-2013 10:02 PM

Does March Madness ring any bells?

Paul Smeenus 03-25-2013 02:02 AM

LOL, yes, Janszoon, the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament

The big story is Florida Gulf Coast University, a 15 seed, is in the Sweet 16, first ever 15 seed to make it that far. This school only made Division 1 (which is the qualifying level to even be eligible for consideration for the tournament) 2 years ago, in fact the school was *founded* in 1997. They've defeated 2nd seed Georgetown and San Diego State, next up, 3rd seed Florida

Zebras 03-25-2013 08:40 AM

I had Duke, Kansas, Wisconsin, & Indiana for the final four - pretty safe picks, so I'm still 3/4 for now. But man, my 1st round was awful. Almost went 50%.

I've still got four in the race currently. I wouldn't say any are safe picks at the moment. The #2 and 3 seeds this year are very good in the own right.

Paul Smeenus 03-31-2013 12:17 AM

So....who had Wichita State in the Final Four? o_O

PALM 03-31-2013 06:22 PM

Wichita State messed up my whole bracket!

Paul Smeenus 03-31-2013 08:20 PM

The only thing I got right was Oregon losing to Louisville and Michigan in the final four

Janszoon 03-31-2013 09:27 PM

I don't know anything about these brackets or what have you but I did see that extremely fucked up footage of that one guy breaking his leg. Holy shit!

Wpnfire 03-16-2014 09:36 PM

Well, I know this year's tournament is LOADED with good teams, but here are my elite eight predictions:

South: Screw the elite eight, I can predict who wins the entire South! It's Florida!
Florida will play Kansas in the Sweet Sixteen.
I expect Syracuse/Ohio St. will give Kansas trouble, it really depends on whether 7-footer Joel Embiid returns from his injury to play in those games.

East: Iowa St. plays Virginia.

West: Arizona plays ???
I don't know honestly. If Oklahoma St. gets past Gonzaga, I think they may make the second round difficult for Arizona.
I'm not going to be so bold as to predict the rest of the West.

Midwest: I have no ****ing clue.
Does anybody know what Wichita State is capable of??
It's not like they had a grueling schedule.
If there's a cinderella team, I predict it will be from the Midwest and upset Wichita State.

Other notes: I expect that this year the first round sees a record number of blowouts, AND overtime games, just because of all the talent.

ALSO, Paul can you put that bracket behind a spoiler? It's just a tad large.

Stonedtone 04-01-2014 01:04 PM

UConn will for the second time in NCAA history will see both men and women win it all

Wpnfire 04-01-2014 01:16 PM

UConn will be torched by Florida.

Florida has held all of their opponents to within at least a few points of their opponent scoring average for the entire tournament.

Of course, this is college basketball and anything can happen, but that would be QUITE the victory if UConna manages to win, maybe the hugest upset of the tournament.

The only thing I got right with my bracket was Wichita state losing to Kentucky.

This year was crazy and busted up loads of people's brackets.

It makes sense with all of the gifted players.

My bracket was wrong in the very first game of the first round.

While I don't think Florida will lose and did pick them all the way out, They did look vulnerable in the last game to a certain degree. Wilbekin is an absolute stud and carried them in the last game. I'd set him up with traps and drop down in zone to combat Florida, but I still can't see UCONN giving them problems. I had Wisconsin and Florida in the final four, other then that my brackets were as DJ described, a total cluster####.

Like I told you before, UConn is a hard team to figure out. They don't have the classic stars to focus on. They do many different game plans. we will see.

butthead aka 216 04-02-2014 06:39 AM

My bracket is long gone. Had oklahoma as my surprise team n in the final four lol

OK is in my conference, I would have told you that was a dumb move. Iowa St. would have made a ton more sense.

I forgot to factor in that German kid. He was x factor that put UConn over the edge. Also, I'm at the game.

Stonedtone 04-05-2014 07:36 PM

as a homy, I picked Uconn. It could happen, again!

Paul Smeenus 03-15-2016 09:44 AM

Paul Smeenus 03-15-2016 05:53 PM

Whoa, 8 play-in teams?

Wpnfire 03-16-2016 09:27 AM

I still don't understand why Kansas is in the South and Virginia is in the Midwest.

EDIT: I guess Chicago and Louisville are roughly equidistant from each other in relationship to Kansas...

Paul Smeenus 03-16-2016 11:22 AM

^ At least with hoops these questions are ultimately settled on the court instead of a selection committee.

Paul Smeenus 03-18-2016 02:38 PM

Oregon State Beavers lose to Virginia Commonwealth, there out. GO DUCKS

Ninetales 03-18-2016 03:13 PM

I made my bracket based purely on logos/team names/mascots.

Temple owls defeating Xavier musketeers (for real they have the best mascot in all of sports) in the final

Paul Smeenus 03-18-2016 06:17 PM

Ducks playing Holy Cross right now, hoping to avoid becoming the first 1 seed to be knocked off by a 16

Paul Smeenus 03-18-2016 07:31 PM

Right now it's 76-39 Ducks, I'm reasonably confident they have this game in hand

Paul Smeenus 03-24-2016 08:27 PM

Ducks vs Duke right now GO DUCKS

Paul Smeenus 03-25-2016 08:58 AM

Ducks vs Sooners tomorrow for the right to advance to the Final Four GO DUCKS

Paul Smeenus 03-26-2016 05:08 PM
