I haven't played in a few years, but I know a lot about fantasy baseball. My first league was in 1989 and we had to wait until the Tuesday (AL) and Wednesday (NL) editions of USA Today came out to do stats. I'm always down for talking fantasy.

I've been doing ESPN fantasy football for a couple years now. I think I'm going to get back into fantasy baseball this year.

That's pretty cool, it's crazy how drastically different fantasy is nowadays with literally every stat under the sun being available on the internet

Why did you stop? It's still a ton of fun and there's a lot of really cool players to follow nowadays. I remember when I made a trade for Mike Trout a few years back before anyone really knew who he was and got to ride his crazy run the rest of the season. That was some awesome stuff, one of my coolest things I've ever experienced in a fantasy sport

The main reason I stopped is time. I have three small children and other hobbies like running and music. If I'm in a league...I'm all in and it consumes me lol. I'm not very good at moderation. It's hard for me to just play it passively. Now with the wealth of information and websites out there it is harder than ever to stay ahead of the curve. You might be really high on a player and see some good trends and then some article on Yahoo or ESPN will blow the player up and he's not a secret anymore. It used to be relatively easy to dominate a league, now it's really hard and the level of play is generally better across the board. I will probably start playing again once my kids get a little older. It's so much fun.

Every year I do the same stupid shit, this year will be no different:

"Grapefruit League??? FUCK THAT SHIT!!! Cactus League!!!"

That was incredible final week of the season last year. Trout is a beast, and Trout/Pujols is the scariest 3-4 in baseball, if Albert stays healthy.

Trout is the best in the game. Pujols was mashing last year, but I hope he can bring his average up. Really missed baseball, happy to see it back. I usually hit Tempe for at least two or three games a season, but might pass this year as its unreasonably hot.

Never forget Pujols in '05
