Tulowitzki makes Instant base hits and homerun at a torrid pace. We'll have a lot of blowout wins in the second half. Not to mention the Derek Jeter - esque play at Shortstop. Alex Anthopoulos looks like a genius right now.

Let's cross our fingers with David Price. Even if it means trading Daniel Norris.

The Price is right.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Jays' chances. I'd feel a lot more secure, however, if they had a natural outfielder in left, and maybe another reliever. Still, a Wild Card spot is definitely possible.

This strategy of spewing every decent prospect you have in hopes of making a superteam that will dismantle after the season is seriously stupid. If the Blue Jays don't win the World Series this year (which is still quite unlikely given the variance of the MLB postseason and that they're in a really tough division), they are completely screwed for quite some time. They have an aging core with no top level prospects anymore and a David Price that is certainly leaving. Not good

the team hasn't made the playoffs in over 20 years. let them have some kind of excitement.

I don't know if making the playoffs one time is worth severely hurting your chances of getting back in the next 5+ years

I'm kinda with you on that. Although their core isn't exactly aging--they've still got Hutch, Stroman, Sanchez, Osuna, Pillar, Travis, and Pompey, who are all valuable players--their hopes of contending beyond this (and maybe next) year are severely reduced. Still, the next few months should be exciting.

Blue Jays are first place in the A.L. East, but don' get too excited. They need to win more. Need at least a 5 game cushion of lead against the Yanks.

Ughhhh the Cardinals are killing me with the injuries. The four best outfielders on the team are all hurt (although Heyward is day-to-day and will only miss probably one more game), plus the starting first-baseman, and two relievers and the ace are pretty much out for the season.

Honestly the bullpen seems like they've got things under control, but it's just not a large group of players and Matheny's using them - Maness, Siegrist, Rosenthal, Choate - a lot. I really worry that they're all going to stop performing right before the playoffs. I think the Moss deal was solid (I don't love what the Cards gave up but can't stand the idea of Mark Reynolds starting every day), but with all these outfielders out, it's sort of not working quite the way it was supposed to. All those outfielders (with the exception of Jon Jay) were also the ones behind our offensive production - so now we're left with basically Jhonny Peralta, Matt Carpenter, and, uh, Stephen Piscotty, who's hitting really well but will slow down. So, you know, hopefully the half-there starting lineup can hit Matt Cain tonight - at least it's not, like, Bumgarner or someone.
