Man, King Felix was just out of his brain yesterday, 15 strikeouts in 7 innings and ends up with a ND. Those who saw both games say he had better stuff yesterday than his perfect game in '12. M's win with 5 in the top of the ninth in horrid Tropicana Field, a year ago I believe they lose that game.
I'm soooo wary of believing the M's have finally turned the corner, they've been so disappointing year after year, and there's plenty of season left to muck it all up, but right now, at a minimum, they do look better. They are 4 games over .500 and are up 3-0 over the shitty Rays in the bottom of the 4th. Zunino is a huge improvement behind the plate, a position they've really needed to improve, their catchers have really sucked in recent years (insert Jesus Montero joke here). Felix is looking like the Cy Young candidate you'd expect, Iwakuma has been sharp for the most part since coming off the DL, there are still question marks but so far there's a better feel for this team. Lloyd McClendon has done a good job to this point. |

Hes lived up to his billing this year. Last year he was more like jester Felix. I understand he lacked run support, but he has been lights out this year. Must be fun to actually attend games again. They always kill the Angels at Anaheim and I attend pretty regularly.

The problem is still offense. They are ranked 25th in batting average, 28th in on base average, 23rd in slugging. Everybody here is clamoring for bringing a bat into the line-up, at least now I won't have to hear any more Kendrys Morales speculation as he signed with the Twins.
