Not really sure how Ronaldo isn't at least top 2. Nobody is close to him in terms of goals and he's getting better and better. I never used to rate his dribbling that highly either but this season he's been doing it more consistently, he looks pissed off cos of the Messi thing...
Also, regarding saying player X is best in the world in X position in current form, honest answer: I don't know. & I don't know how people can say this, cos I don't watch more than maybe 7 teams regularly (Villa, Barça, Real Madrid, Man. City, Man. Utd, England, England u21's then the obvious big games in England e.g. I'll be watching United/Arsenal this weekend) etc... I can't comment on other teams players/players if I don't see them. Ask me how good Koscielny is or how good Mertesacker is, my answer is easily 'I don't know'. I reckon most fans don't see shit first hand & go by media reports, hearsay and general 2nd opinions. I just try as much as possible to go on what I see... Like w/ Hart, for ages and ages everyone in England was saying he was world class. Now everyone can see he's having a holocaust of a season (to add to the last one) & he's not all that lol. It's hard not to fall into the trap because you can't watch that much football, so sometimes you do have to trust other people's opinions a little bit, but I can't say someone is the best defender/midfielder in the world. It's easier to do this w/ strikers & attacking players because their importance is consistent w/ highlights & goals tell you a lot with them. |

I agree in general, but I have watched enough of the obvious Top 10 or so players to kind of make an accurate list based on current form.
As for Ronaldo, he isn't better than Messi, and I think Ibra is probably ahead of him this season. Nothing wrong with that, Ibra is simply having an extra special season.

Yeah Messi is obviously the better footballer but Ronaldo is having the better season out of the two so far, particularly this last month or so, so if Ibrahimovic is #1 Ronaldo is at least #2 (ahead of Messi). Messi has suffered a little thanks to Neymar and an injury. Ronaldo doing things like this and this regularly now (I think his dribbling has always been overrated btw)
& That tantrum he had cos of Blatter, & team mates admitting Ronaldo has sleepless nights when Messi has scored more... On one hand it's pathetic how tormented Ronaldo is by Messi but on the other it's commendable how desperate he is to overtake him. |

Real Madrid Vs. Real Sociedad 5-1 All Goals Highlights Cristiano Ronaldo Hattrick 9-11-2013 - YouTube What about Ronaldo then, these last few weeks he's been raging. 17 apps, 24 goals now, plus 2 for Portugal. He's playing like a madman at the moment. It's as if he wants there to be no excuse not to give him the Ballon d'Or this year, he's like a football robot. |
