But let's be honest, Punk really needs a match of the stature of Undertaker at WM to push him to that next level.

I agree it would help raise him to the status of a top guy, but let's be honest if they're unwilling to let him go over Cena clean or to beat Rock, he hasn't a prayer against Taker and that's why I find it to not engross me too much. At least with the Michaels matches given his career being on the line and even with HHH's tendency to bury others there was a genuine feeling that the streak may be coming to an end.
Their match at WM28, the moment where Michaels hit the Sweet Chin into HHH's Pedigree, I believed for a moment the streak was over. I don't feel that element of wrestling psychology will be prevalent with Punk, I just don't believe he's a viable candidate to end the streak and don't see myself becoming too emotionally involved as a result. Punk's never going to be on Cena's level as a face or a heel in terms of popularity, he's always going to be playing second fiddle, so until we get Cena/Taker, I don't feel like the streak's in jeopardy. |

Cena genuinely made me laugh with that "heel turn" comment. Fair play John, fair play.
And yes, the crowd was Epic. Steve Austin proportioned pops when Ziggler came out/won.

Okay, I've watched. What an absolutely amazing show!
The crowd was completely nuts and every aspect of the show was brilliant. Cena turned in some fine performances, The IC title match was great, I don't like Ziggler personally but the whole segment was really well done. Of course Fandango, The Shield, Taker...Kane & Bryan running to Taker's aid had me popping in front of my laptop. The completely random chanting as well as the 'du da du da da da da du da's. Then the ending! Such a great show!! |

Lacking in personality, portraying a 'bad guy' yet doesn't act like a bad guy should. Doesn't do anything to earn boos rather playing up the 'cool guy' persona. He doesn't look like a threat. And he's always had to have someone in his corner to ensure he draws a reaction. I think he'd be better served as a mid-card face, but that's just me. I don't see how he'll make a believable champion as we've seen him take losses to absolutely everyone, which of course he is not personally at fault for, but it tells me that WWE are not entirely serious about pushing him as they've booked him as anything but a credible challenger and now champion. I do however think Big E's got a ton of potential. Great look. Good worker with an impressive move set and a surprising charisma to boot. Also, loving these Fandango videos. |
