Finishing moves are just part of the script. You use the move to hype the crowd then pin them. That's the only point to them.

Both ends of your jaw there are nerves. A strike to the jaw would compress one of the nerves and generally speaking causing a knock out. The only issue with this is that this compression of one of the nerves is caused by left or right hooks. I always assumed this was the logic that was being used.
