Some beautiful pics, Coz, but no photos of your feet, before and after.
Do many people go barefoot into the hills ? I like hiking too, but I`m nowhere near in your league; up and down 2000 feet in two hours is really fast. Also, I don`t think I`d ever consider doing it barefoot. Aren`t you worried about where you put your foot down ? I prefer the comfort of shoe that`ll keep my feet warm and dry, and these boots by Dr. Marten give good ankle support too:- They have been continuously manufactured for over fifty years and are now such a design classic that in Britain you can say, " a pair of Docs" or " a pair of Cherry Reds" and most people will know what you`re talking about.

You can definitely just say "Docs" in the US as well, and people will know what you're talking about.
Also, Coz the Shroom presumably didn't come up with this idea on his own. Note the Society For Barefoot Living established in 1994. These people seem to believe that shoes are generally for losers.

I like docs-- they're punk! but I plan on packing shoes and socks as cold weather gear when we go camping tuesday. I think we should get some moccasins at some point, but these days I can hardly stand hiking with footwear anymore! I nearly stepped on a baby timber rattler while on a mushroom hunt, but it was very docile so I view them about like cactus-- just watch where you step! I have some video that includes my feet from a hike on my home mountain.
https://www.facebook.com/throatgorge/photos the video is September 10 2011 10:11 pm (date posted) I like shoes for fashion; evening wear. Beatle boots, docs, sketchers, etc., but nothing makes a hike more memorable than feeling it on your feet hours afterwards! |
