Hunting/Sport/Firearm Thread

Well I doubt this will get any views and probably no posts unless maybe 90sKid runs across it. I just wanted a thread where anyone who hunts, whether it be bow or firearm or a knife tied to a stick can talk about it. Also any general firearm talk (handguns/rifles/shotguns/etc) can go here as well.

The main thing I would like to use this thread for is if anyone is wanting to maybe start collecting, hunting, or just buy there first firearm for home defense or whatever reason they may have short of robbing a store.

I guess I will start with a comment and then a question. I just ordered a Rock Island Armory Tactical 1911. Going to pick it up tomorrow. While I have my every day carry Sig Sauer P250sc, does anyone have any experience carrying a full size barrel (5")? I realize the best way is probably a shoulder holster but I really have not had any experience doing so.
