In the pre-Alps stage today Nibali tried to attack but I knew it would fail. What was amazing was the four breakaway riders who were all dying at the death and what a finish it was, Voeckler just had that bit extra, but ride of the day was Jens Voigt, can't believe that man got back into contention on the stage after being down and out.

It must be hard for Froome, because here is a man that can win the Tour but he has to play as a super-domestique for Wiggins, a lot of riders sadly won't be sneaky and attack their teammates and go for personal glory.:finger:

wow....what a stage.....Voeckler was simply amazing all day.....i really like his style of pace making....but i have to say i feel Voigt was robbed of the most aggressive rider....i mean what a come back.....for over an hour i had assumed he simply slip[ped back to Wiggins group....and out of nowhere there he is!!!!.....i have no idea what the french equivalent for "mother fucker!" is....but i am positive that is what i read on Voeckler's lips when he looked behind him and Voigt was just sitting there and even better attacked the group immediately!

seriously the most punished thing on earth right now is Jens Voight's bottom bracket!!!! what a masher!

Well the last few days have more or less proved decisive. Wiggins is now sure to win, as he's just so strong and his team are in total control of the race. Riders like Froome who we've already mentioned and riders like Rogers and Porte are just too strong for everybody in the mountains. Evans is out and I doubt will even get on the podium, his attack in the Alps just seemed so laboured and just downright painful and to be honest I think he's a great rider but has always been more suited to the classics than he is to Tours, he only won last year as he was really on form and was far better than Andy Schleck in the time-trials. I've been impressed with his team mate though Teejay Van Garderen who despite being an American, I always seem to think he's Belgian or Dutch;) Could well be a future winner of the race and should take over from Evans as the team leader next year.

Nibali will keep nibbling away (excuse the pun) and I now expect him to finish third. The race though, has really misssed Andy Schleck because if anybody had been capable of blowing the race up in the Alps it would've been him and the whole thing would've been more exciting as well.

Once again a strong disciplined team in the mountains has proved to be the key to success

Wow a Little person won the Tour. Impressive that he could get those little legs pumping over the Alps. :p:

It was great to see Wiggins win but to be honest its one of the poorer Tours that I've seen. There was no real challenge to Wiggins throughout the race. Evans was well off from last year, Nibali I don't think is Tour winning material and Froome who could have challenged Wiggins was his team mate. The race missed Andy Schleck, he would've made the whole thing far more exciting.

Anyway, this thread can be used to chat about cycling, as there are the other Tours and the Classics etc.

Olympics, Tour of Lombardy, La Vuelta and the World Championships, especially love the elite mens road race.

All these guys have used performance enhancing drugs right?

I'm 99% certain, when nearly everybody is using them it seems ridiculous to constantly keep prosecuting individual riders.
