Ukraine had plenty of shots at goal in the first half but they were bothering the top of the stadium more than the goal.

England might have played abysmally in the first half but they never looked like going behind.

Thats why I think calling them abysmal is hugely exaggerating things. In the first half we were flat, dull, lacking in any creativity and carried barely any threat. We were very poor. To be abysmal we would have needed to have conceded two or three goals and showed no signs of getting a result.

England mobilise search and rescue team to find James Milner

“Our hopes were raised when we received news that a group of men had been spotted running around aimlessly,” revealed England right back Glen Johnson.

“We thought that James could be among them, but it just turned out to be the Dutch team playing Portugal.”

The Irish can be excused, as far as I'm concerned. They are the weakest team in the competition and really were out of their depth. I thought the reaction from some to their first game was very harsh as, although they were second best, I also felt they were terribly unlucky in places. They fell apart completely after that but it was against Spain.

Very, very poor but just qualifying was an achievement. I didn't expect them to.

I think Milner's alright. He put that cross in that Defoe scored from in the world cup so he might prove useful like that again.

First QF up later, I'm expecting Portugal to easily beat the Czech Republic.

At least boring old Greece are out, I thought for a split second yesterday that the miracle of 2004 could be upon us. Anyways Spain v France next up should be an exciting match.
