Busquets and Alosno might be far better but Pirlo doesn't run he's a creative player and Barry can't run, personally I think England need a player like Parker.

To this day probably the worst foul I've ever seen.
**** you're right I did forget and also that semi-final between France and Germany was an epic encounter, the stuff of footballing legend.

Disagree, England need players who can pass the ball properly and doesn't boot it away whenever pressure hits. Parker is one of the most over rated players of this generation in my opinion, mid table at best.

You don't top your group with 7 points by being abysmal.
Thats always the way with reaction to England - they "aren't good enough".

I'm of course not disputing this. I mean, who really expects England to win this? I do, however, think its a real shame when we get 7 points from 9 in the group stages and this is peoples first thought. Their initial reaction. I dont expect people to have high, unrealistic or delusional expectations of the English national team but it annoys me how negative we are.

We could play like Brazil 1970, we could win the Euro's and there would still be a large number of "fans" whos reaction would be "Yeah but we wont win the World Cup."

I don't consider myself a fan, but I doubt if England won it then people would say we aren't good enough. If anything, the Euros is harder to win than the World Cup as only Brazil and Argentina are worth mentioning outside of Europe.

Honestly sometimes I wonder. As a nation we couldnt be much more negative if we tried. The tabloids just help to encourage this. I often wonder what would make England fans happy.

They seem happy enough now, because the bar was set so low.

For once the bar was set at a realistic level, which was either a first round exit or scraping through to the quarters. The team are currently riding their luck and hitting at the height of the capabilities.

The tabloids are? I'd agree with that but only to a point. If you play shit, the tabloids will say shit about you. Thats a given. I think that they are often overly critical and analytical though, just as many, many English football fans are.

They arent so bad at the minute but, as I said, I can only sat that to a point. After the France game, the headline in one of the tabloids I saw read "YIPPEE! A DRAW!"

The first half was abysmal as a spectacle. Ukraine were the better side in the first half but were they particularly brilliant?
