Actually the difference between Janszoon and you is that Janszoon is speaking from the standpoint of exhaustive research, evidence, literally millions of examined documents, sworn statements from the particulars including Paterno himself that he understood the sexual contact with underage boys, that JP's "reporting" of the matter was in fact a concerted effort to keep the matter quiet between Paterno and PSU officials This is all exhaustively outlined point by point in the Freeh Report. You, on the other hand, are going off a COMPLETELY uninvestigated "opinion". It's like claiming that 2+2=5 because that's my opinion, dammit. The following video describes this phenomenon, although on a totally different topic. If you simply replace the words "climate change" with the words "The Freeh Report", this video would be demonstrating your unsupported, indefensible conclusion perfectly ...although to be perfectly frank, I believe you're less committed to defending Paterno than you are to getting a reaction. OK, you succeeded. Once. There are people that responded to this thread that I respect (such as Fred Hale Sr.) saying that they chose to remember Paterno for the good he did (and he did, not just in football but in other facets of the university, especially academics). I will have to agree to disagree with them, IMO the actions, the cover-up surrounding Sandusky, the willful disregard for their responsibilities under the Clery Act, the failure to protect these children and the enabling of Sandusky to continue raping young boys for 10 more years after it has been conclusively proven they knew what he was doing, that is bigger than any of the good that was done. Those that defend Paterno saying he reported the matter to his "superiors" (although, while technically his superiors, there is evidence what was not the reality of the matter), I say this. Sandusky continued in his position for 10 years after Paterno admits he knew that Sandusky was having sex with young boys on campus. Were I in that position, I would've been actively contacting any and all governing authorities, all the way to the President if I had to, to get that man arrested. I believe almost anyone would. And not 10 years after the fact but immediately and persistently. Paterno was concerned about a football program instead of child rape victims. This is proven.
