OK I was afraid this could happen. FSU is 2 in the first BCS ranking ahead of my Ducks. Fuck that.

Week 9 pics
Tennessee at 1 Alabama
The Ducks beat these Volunteers 59-14 in week 3. This is the only common opponent between 'Bama and Oregon, the spread is 28, IMO if they are truly the #1 team they need to approximate that 45 point win. NC State at Florida State 'Noles are favored by 31 1/2. If the Wolfpack somehow pull this off I'm gonna be dancing naked in the street, but somehow I have a feeling that the people in this neighborhood have nothing to worry about. A close game here is as good as a win for NC State, IF... 12 UCLA at 3 Oregon Ducks are expected to get De'Anthony Thomas back for this critical game. Spread is 23, DAT + Autzen Stadium + catching FSU = Ducks blowout Penn State at 4 Ohio State Buckeyes cover the 12 1/2 21 S. Carolina at Missouri Tigers are favored by 2 1/2, I think the Tigers tenure in the top 5 will be a short one, Gamecocks win. 6 Stanford at 25 Oregon State I like the Beavers, I'm an Oregon native and have always rooted for the Beavers, even though they're never been quite as sexy as the Ducks. But I believe Stanford will win and cover the 3 1/2 points Wake Forest at 7 Miami (FL) Hurricanes escaped the upset last weekend by the skin of their teeth, I think it will serve as a wake-up call. They will pummel the Demon Deacons and cover the 24 8 Baylor at Kansas Unfortunately for the Jayhawks this isn't basketball. Bears will cover the 34 9 Clemson at Maryland Tigers were humiliated last week, they will beat the Terrapins like they stole something and cover the 14 10 Texas Tech at 15 Oklahoma The Red Raiders are looking to prove they deserve a top 10 ranking. They don't. The Sooners are favored by 6 1/2 and they will cover. Last edited by Paul Smeenus; 10-24-2013 at 03:29 PM. |

FSU vs NC ST. - I'll take NC ST, to cover but lose. I'm still not convinced FSU is a team made to cover 30 pt spreads. Oregon vs UCLA- I like Oregon to cover and UCLA to tank the rest of the season. Bruins cost me 25 bucks last week, I hope they get trounced. Ohio State vs Penn St. - I'll ride it out with the Buckeyes, they should win going away. South Carolina vs Missouri - Gotta roll with Steve Spurrier and SC in this one. I would have went with Mizzou if their QB didn't get injured but they don't look like world beaters without him. Stanford vs Oregon State- I'm gonna take the upset. I'm still not impressed with Stanford to the point I think they can take the win in hostile Corvalis. Go Beavers!!! hmmm beavers. Miami vs Wake Forest- I'm gonna take the 24 and go with the Demon Deacons. I'm convinced the Dorsett injury will set Miami back and they looked average against NC last week. They still win the game however. Baylor vs Kansas- Baylor all the way, they're rolling up points in large numbers and have some great team speed and speed kills. Clemson vs Maryland- I'll take Clemson to cover and win. I have not been feeling good about Boyd's game and i'm sure he doesn't either. Texas Tech vs Oklahoma- Oklahoma stinks, no way they take this game. Red Raiders will walk away with a victory in an ugly offensive game. |

Yes! Ducks hold the #2 position in the BCS. The Ducks remaining schedule, at Stanford (the game everyone has had circled all season), Utah (to date the only team to beat Stanford), at Arizona, and the Civil War against Oregon State in Autzen
...then if they run the table they would host the Pac 12 Championship (probably against the Bruins again). Florida State's remaining schedule goes Miami (FL), at Wake Forest, Syracuse, a cupcake game against Idaho (that really hurts them, esp. if they don't utterly dismantle the Vandals) and the traditional rivalry interconference game with Florida. Again if they win out they would then host the ACC championship. They would need Oregon to stumble to get in. Last edited by Paul Smeenus; 10-27-2013 at 10:28 PM. |

Taking a look at the standings, Arizona State actually has the inside track in the weak Pac 12 South. UCLA plays the Sun Devils on Nov. 23rd & the winner of that game will likely play the winner of the Ducks/Cardinal game in the Pac 12 Championship (and will likely lose). |

Another note, De'Anthony Thomas was a non-factor in this game, only 31 yards rushing in 10 carries. Byron Marshall, OTOH, carried 19 for 133 yards.
The upshot of all this is that the Ducks can only get better. |
