Another pick will be weather affected, Stanford/Wazzu will be played at CenturyLink Field in Seattle in this ugly storm, I still pick Stanford to win and cover but I'm backing down off of 30 points. Unless it's 30-0. It'll be hard to score much in these conditions.

Week 6 picks
Georgia St. at 1 Alabama
Betting line currently favors 'Bama by 54 1/2. I hate these cupcake games, because the favorite has their second team in the game by halftime and the third string in by the 4th quarter. However, I think 'Bama could *start* their third string and cover this spread 2 Oregon at Colorado The Ducks won by 39 against Cal in a freaking MONSOON last Saturday in Eugene even without DeAnthony Thomas, the Buffaloes were blown out of Corvallis against a good but nowhere-near-as-good-as-the-Ducks Oregon State team. The spread is 38 1/2. This is a mortal lock. Bet the house on the Ducks. 3 Clemson at Syracuse I'm tired of underestimating Clemson. They will cover the 13 1/2 4 Ohio State at 16 Northwestern The Wildcats are currently undefeated. The Buckeyes are undefeated. One team will have a loss at the end of this game, and it ain't gonna be Ohio State. They cover the seven points with ease. 15 Washington at 5 Stanford I'm in the EXTREMELY unfamiliar position of rooting for the Huskies. If they can somehow win this game, my Ducks have a game up on their primary Pac 12 North competition. However, that would also likely vault the Huskies into the top 10 with a showdown next week against Oregon in the new Husky Stadium. It would definitely bring the ESPN Gameday show to Seattle. (and BTW most of the country has NO IDEA of the boiling, bitter hatred for the Ducks here, it makes the rivalry with Wazzu look like a full-on bromance. This town HATES the Ducks) BUT...it ain't gonna happen. Washington is much improved but Stanford is better. The Cardinal easily covers the 7 1/2. 6 Georgia at Tennessee Spread is 10 1/2. Bulldogs win by 20. 7 Louisville at Temple Another team I've consistently underrated. Louisville is favored by 32 against the winless Owls. I've learned my lesson and I'm taking the Cardinals 25 Maryland at 8 Florida State I've picked the favorite in every game so far, I will take the 15 1/2 and go with the Terps in this one, not to win but to beat the spread. 10 LSU at Mississippi State LSU is favored by 9 1/2, they will be PISSED after the loss to Georgia, bet the farm on LSU |

Week 7 picks
1 Alabama at Kentucky
The Tide is favored by 27 over the Wildcats, one of the SEC doormats. I think that's just about right. 2 Oregon at 16 Washington This is the game of the week. These two schools HATE each other. Oregon hates Washington because they've been the dominant Northwest program for DECADES until recent years, and the Duck fans resent the sense of entitlement, like the wealthy snobs that look down their noses at their blue collar middle class neighbors. Husky fans view Oregon as "new money" low class trailer trash, but what they REALLY resent is that the Ducks have won 9 in a row by an average score of 44-17. I hate the Huskies, but I am duty bound to recognize that they have a vastly better team this year than they've had in many years and have a shot at winning this game, especially in the new Husky Stadium. The problem they have, IMO, is that they're playing a fast pace style, which totally plays into the hands of the unquestioned masters of the uptempo offense. The Ducks also have an under-appreciated opportunistic defense. I have to admit I have some concern over this game but my gut tells me that the Husky fans are really gonna be pissed after the shellacking they are gonna get on Saturday, Ducks cover the two touchdown margin. Boston College at 3 Clemson Clemson is favored by 27 1/2, they win and cover 5 Stanford at Utah Cardinal is favored by 9. This is a mortal lock, Stanford blows the Utes away 25 Missouri at 7 Georgia The spread favors the Bulldogs by 7 1/2. Mortal lock number two, Georgia will definitely cover this Rutgers at 8 Louisville I continue to under-appreciate the Cardinals, I think they will win but I pick Rutgers to beat the 19 1/2 point spread. This game kicks off tonight at 7:30 EDT 9 Texas A&M at Ole Miss Spread is 6 favoring the Aggies, the Rebels are actually a pretty good team but it's hard to bet against Johnny Football. I take the Aggies 17 Florida at 10 LSU Tigers are favored by 7, they win and cover. |

Huskies haven't really been relevant since the Napoleon Kaufman era. They will get pounded by Oregon. Oregon to cover by 28 points. Clemson to win and cover also. Boyd is one helluva gun slinger and that D is solid. Stanford will dominate and win by 30. Not sure where the betting line was factored but apparently a four year old set the line. I'm torn on the Georgia game. They looked very mortal last week. I sense Missou covering the spread. Georgia to win with mizzou covering the spread. Louisville to cover the spread. They will absolutely pummel a poor Rutgers team. I see them running the ball down their throats the entire game. Aggies over Ole Miss by a ton. I figure a four touchdown beat down by J-football. Tigers by 7 indeed. I'll go with a two touchdown beatdown. |

That may have been true in recent years but this Husky team is better. They gave Stanford all they could handle. Plus it's here in Seattle, and the renovated Husky Stadium will be LOUD. If this game is available in your area, watch it. I can't overemphasize how BITTER this rivalry is, even though in recent years the Ducks have dominated. The closest game was 34-17 in this nine game run. An update, DeAnthony Thomas is doubtful for this game. |

Bralon Addison is also a powerful weapon for Oregon. Then of course there's Mariota...
