Damn. A lot of promise for the Vikings this year is pretty much squashed with these Peterson developments. I am excited to see more of McKinnon though (I can't see Asiata instilling much confidence into the Vikings coaching staff when he's probably going to average 2 yards a carry), along with probably a heavier dose of Patterson in the running game.

It's only been one game + one drive at the time of this post, but you can just tell how much better the coaching is lol. There's so much creativity in the offense now, not to mention how good the D looked last week. We have seen such a horrendous string of brutal coaching over the recent years (since Tice anyways).

Yeah...
Matt Cassel after that first pick looked like his life was flipped upside down. When he's comfortable he looks like a competent quarterback, with good throwing motion and and a capable arm. However if he can get derailed that easily it doesn't bode well. Teddy is going to be in after the bye. Defensive front doesn't get pressure fast, and that signing for robinson hasn't paid off yet. I think Rhodes looks good, just a little maturation away from being solid. He's always in the right spots at least. Anthony Barr looks like a beast broke through doube coverage. Next year will be the year, but hopefully we can get to .500. Offseason, let go of greenway and brinkley. Draft corners, running back and safetyMLB sign another veteran MLB/safety A lot of people are coming for A.P's head. If he gets indicted it would be an easy way to get out of paying the rest of his contract-just saying. Still got respect for A.P, don't think his intent was malicious and believe his kid would turn out fine in a few weeks. It's the media coverage thats ultimately going to prove more crippling in the long run |

He had a little scarring around his ass and legs from almost every report that I've seen. I just don't see what the big deal is. I know most people are appalled by abuse, but that's not really what I think of when I think of abuse. I always thought of it as a constant thing, and this seems like discipline. If he was beating the kid all around his body or something, then maybe it was abuse.
I think the kid probably isn't very disciplined, and he was probably shocked to learn that there were consequences for being an *******. The Vikes look solid this year, and even though the Pats kicked our asses last week I'm still pretty optimistic. Our offense basically gave them 14, and to a somewhat lesser extent another 10 of their 30 points. With that said, our pass rush needs to be better than it was last week, and we need to be able to take away a guy like Edelman if we want to play with elite teams like the Patriots. |

Man, this sucks. You simply can't do what AP did, but I have absolutely no doubt that what he did wasn't done with malicious intent. I don't have a problem with him being charged, but the media painting him as some evil person pisses me off. As for the Vikes deciding not to play him now, I think that's a bush-league decision. I realize all these sponsors were suspending their deals with the Vikings because of this, but they just look retarded by handling it the way they did. He should still be able to play while this is going on, they just caved to media pressure.
As for the effects this will have on the Vikings season, I think it will be huge. We simply don't know what it's like to not have 8 men in the box solely focused on stopping the running game. It's kind of like Moss; even when they're not having their best games statistically, they're still huge factors in making the D account for them . As good as the offense has looked and as promising as the coaching is, Cassel is going to have to deal with a lot more obstacles in the passing game now. I don't think he'll be throwing 4 picks every game, but it's not going to be very pretty. As for the running game now, Asiata is seriously one of the least impressive players in the league. He is just way too slow and predictable. I guess he's OK in short yardage situations, but McKinnon better be able to complement that with big play ability, or the running game is going to go from the team's main strength to a complete disaster. |

AP will be back this week.
Vikes will get a lot of flack. Some beer brand or something pulled their sponsorship with the nfl saying they don't want to be a part of all this abuse. A beer brand pulling sponsorship because they want want to be recognized as sponsoring endangerment. haha |

He got pulled again, dude. He's out probably for the rest of the year.
We're basically ****ed unless someone really steps up to establish our running game enough to where our receivers can get some breathing room. I can't see Asiata doing it, though. |

welcome back fwd.
That sucks. Of course the one year we actually could have used toby he's gone. This is the first time we haven't had a decent running back in like 14 years? Even when we had culpepper/moss we had micheal bennet and robert smith. Would Ray Lewis have had a career in this league? |
