dude i feel like the patriots are cheating some how. I never trust Bellicheck as a "brilliant mind" that dude hasn't won since he was caught videotaping the other team. That hurry up offense they run seems borderline illegal

By win I'm assuming you mean a super bowl right? The Pats are always in the mix of things every year. I dont agree with cheating, but I bet a lot of teams do it, and Belechik just happend to get get caught. You have to remember how good Brady is too, and when everyone is on the same page that offense is ruthless. Even if they are cheating they would still have to execute on the field, but I don't think they are to be honest. How is the hurry up offense they run borderline against the rules to you?

A lot of teams would look at the other sideline to try to decipher calls but i think Bill was the only one to videotape them.

I know the jets have contacted the nfl about the pats hurry up, then again they are the jets but still.

“It’s going to be a major point of contention before [our] game with the officials to make sure that they know the rule is when they substitute we’re permitted to substitute,” Pettine told Mehta.

If the officials permit [the Patriots] to do that, then the game is going to become chaos,” Pettine said. “That’s the problem. Because we’re going to be running guys on. We need to make sure that that is enforced for this game, because we found examples on tape where it has not been. Then it’s impossible. Now you can’t defend it.”

The rulebook makes it clear that the officials have the responsibility to ensure that the defense has a fair chance to adjust to lineup changes. Per Mehta, Rule 5, Section 2, Article 10 states that “if a substitution is made by the offense, the offense shall not be permitted to snap the ball until the defense has been permitted to respond with its substitutions. . . . The offense is prohibited from rushing quickly to the line of scrimmage and snapping the ball in an obvious attempt to cause a defensive foul (i.e. — too many men on the field). . . . The umpire will stand over the ball until the Referee deems that the defense has had a reasonable time to complete its substitutions.”
Personally i just don't like the pats so im biased lol

A lot of people don't like the Pats and I wasn't aware that was a rule. I thought the whole point of the hurry up was to get the deffense rattled and flustered myself. Learned something new today I guess.

Rk Player Team Yards Attempts
1 Eric Dickerson Los Angeles Rams 2,105 379
2 Jamal Lewis Baltimore Ravens 2,066 387
3 Barry Sanders Detroit Lions 2,053 335
4 Terrell Davis Denver Broncos 2,008 392
5 Chris Johnson Tennessee Titans 2,006 358
6 O.J. Simpson Buffalo Bills 2,003 332
7 Earl Campbell Houston Oilers 1,934 373
T8 Ahman Green Green Bay Packers 1,883 355
Barry Sanders Detroit Lions 1,883 331
10 Shaun Alexander Seattle Seahawks 1,880 370
11 Jim Brown Cleveland Browns 1,863 291
12 Tiki Barber New York Giants 1,860 357
13 Ricky Williams Miami Dolphins 1,853 383
14 Walter Payton Chicago Bears 1,852 339
15 Jamal Anderson Atlanta Falcons 1,846 410
16 Eric Dickerson Los Angeles Rams 1,821 404
17 O.J. Simpson Buffalo Bills 1,817 329
18 LaDainian Tomlinson San Diego 1,815 348
19 Adrian Peterson Minnesota Vikings 1,812 289

Jim Brown is the only one to have a higher YPC than Peterson for the people currently ahead of AP on the single season rushing lead list. Peterson is on pace to carry the ball 330 times, about 50 less than Dickerson.

Brown did it in 12 games also. He would have ran for 2480 yds if his average held up over four more games. Thats why he is widely regarded as the greatest running back in NFL history. Dude was an absolute beast.

Where would you rank AP at this point? He's only in his 6th season, but he should eclipse 10,000 yards by the end of next season and 100 TDs maybe 2 seasons down the road.

if he breaks dickersons record you gotta start calling him the greatest ever. Single game rushing record, single season record, statistically he'd be the best. I think the fact that most other people with AP's injury would have sat out the first 4-6 games of the season makes him comparable to oj/brown with their 12 game seasons

I think he will be the best ever when all is said and done statistically, albeit thats not a given. Emmitt Smiths stat line is pretty ridiculous and he has the Championships to go with the stat line. If I had to say who was the best I ever saw play the game at running back it would be Payton. He ran past, over, through everything put in front of him, had hands like velcro and was the best blocking back the game will ever see bar none. AP has a little ways to go before he gets considered by me, but the guy is amazing to watch and has a big shot at breaking all the records.

I think theres a few pundits that will still argue Brown, that is just unreal to be on average for 2480 YDS IN A SEASON. I think all things being considered if OJ had the option of knee surgeries they perform now he would definitely be in the discussion, he was absolutely electrifying to watch.
