Just how exzactly is a little dance or Ocho Cinco putting the football with a pylon taking away from the game? To me its just someone who cant handle the other team or player living up his moment to shine. It never bothered me in sports when I played as a player in anything in school. It doesnt bother me now to watch it. If you want to watch something monotonous try golf. The age old take away from the game has run its course because it doesnt imo. Have a sense of humor..nobody wants to watch a bunch of robots out their with the same amount of emotion feeling and enthuiasm as Ben Stein. I dont agree with the rules on them at all, and thank god their are some out there that despite the fines they know they are going to receive. Celebrate anyway and make the game a little more fun.

Isnt Ben just sooooooo exciting to watch ^
I just want you to take some time and watch a little lacrosse or hockey. Two perfect examples of sports where the players have a code on conduct they dont cross when it comes to sportmanship in celebrating. Players in football make a tackle and jump up, flexes, stand over their opponent. A lax or hockey player throws a hit and gets up and hussles to the bench or gets their ass back to the play. Theres no need for it. I like football, and Im not trying to make it sound like its a garbage sport. I just dont think that by not celebrating in an incredibly fashion, you're a robot.

Like I said im not a fan of the every little play celebrations. For instance a runningback makes a 5 yard gain on a second down and his team is down 20 points. Thats stupid and meaningless. However if it was a big time player making a big time play...like on 3rd and 15 to get the first down....and everybody in the stadium knows who the ball is going to (and so does the opposing deffense) and he still catches it and even scores. Thats raw talent at its best and is deserving of a little self praise involving a dance, sharpie autograph, or whatever. then get back to buisness as usual. No im not a fan of every down celebrations but to completley take it out of the game isnt fair either.

Ive tried watching hockey..never lacrosse. I dont really care for it, but if thats what you like then thats what you like. Im sure there is just as much effort and skill that goes into being either or as it does to play in the NFL or any other sport. It just lacks controling the tempo of the game to me. Maybe I havent watched it enough to completley understand the concept. Im sure theres strategy to it like any other sport. Just was never patient enough to wait for them to score.

Oh man! You reminded me of completely why football just keeps losing points. There is a rulebook that we apparently just started to follow verbatim this year. It is one thing when the refs miss a call and cost your team the game, but when they make a call that clearly defies the entire game of football and takes a win away from a ****ty team, who has one all star player, and whom you know is getting the ball, and he gets the TD....Calvin Johnson. That along with the pussification has tainted my view completely. Hockey upholds that 'have at it boys' mentality that I desire.
