A deal will eventually get done but it'll be at the last second. Cause think about it, there's no urgency on either side right now. What incentive do they have to budge on their issues? I have a feeling this is gonna go right up to the season and then the realization that games could go unplayed and everyone would lose money will force them to compromise and get a deal done. I think there's a lot of posturing on both sides. If you have seen any of Sports Illustrated's Peter King's recent articles on Roger Goodell you can tell he is trying to portray him as this great guy and stuff. Cause both sides wanna have the public support but I feel like everyone gets irritated when millionaire's are arguing over money. I've said before that I don't know all the issues and what they are discussing but I'll always side with the players cause they are the guys who actually go out there and risk their bodies and spend the entire year busting their asses in the gym. The NBA collective bargaining agreement is also going to be up, so it should be interesting to see what happens with that as well cause I know a lot of owners are going to try to find a way to keep control of their star players because of these "superteams" forming.
I like the combine stuff but it kinda bores me after awhile. I like seeing who's stock rises and falls but watching guys continuously run sprints and catch balls gets boring for me. One of my best friends is HUGE into the combine. Him and his Dad go to the NFL Draft every year and he makes full 7 round mock drafts every year. So he's gotten me into it a little bit more. Draft day is always fun though, something to look forward to |

I think Football, just like basketball has turned into a show. From players celebrating like its the superbowl after every single play...to players tweeting and whatever other gimmicks they all have. Its all wrong. Im not just saying this as a hockey fan, but seriously. Watch the way hockey players hold themselves on the ice, on the bench, and in interviews. Its the way it should be. All the other garbage just takes away from the focus on whats really important. The Game itself.

Hockey is so wholesome and raw still, but it is heading in the same direction slowly. They are now starting to become more concerned with head shots, elbows etc...There is a lot more marketing going on to promote hockey. All in all, I think it is a good thing, but seeing the changes that have taken place in football throughout my life scares the shit out of me when it comes to hockey. |

There is always somebody offended by player celebrations and thats good. The celebration needs to be somewhat offensive or they lose their appeal to me. I dont agree with celebrating after every single play, but if you have the talent like some big players do...show it off. How? Just how exzactly is a little dance or Ocho Cinco putting the football with a pylon taking away from the game? To me its just someone who cant handle the other team or player living up his moment to shine. It never bothered me in sports when I played as a player in anything in school. It doesnt bother me now to watch it. If you want to watch something monotonous try golf. The age old take away from the game has run its course because it doesnt imo. Have a sense of humor..nobody wants to watch a bunch of robots out their with the same amount of emotion feeling and enthuiasm as Ben Stein. I dont agree with the rules on them at all, and thank god their are some out there that despite the fines they know they are going to receive. Celebrate anyway and make the game a little more fun.
Isnt Ben just sooooooo exciting to watch ^ |

Ive tried watching hockey..never lacrosse. I dont really care for it, but if thats what you like then thats what you like. Im sure there is just as much effort and skill that goes into being either or as it does to play in the NFL or any other sport. It just lacks controling the tempo of the game to me. Maybe I havent watched it enough to completley understand the concept. Im sure theres strategy to it like any other sport. Just was never patient enough to wait for them to score. |

You know what incentive they have? What urgency? They aren't allowed to check out play or look at playbook modifications because of this. So they need to get it done as soon as possible so they can revise strategies for the upcoming season.
