Sports Gambling
Anyone else here gamble on sports? Regularly or sparingly, I was just wondering. I've got really into it the last couple of years, NBA being my favorite to bet (and most profitable), but I bet NFL, MLB, and sometimes college basketball as well. But I bet NBA every night.
If anyone else here gambles or is interested, I'll post my bets I feel confident with and a little write-up about my decision. So if anyone wants to talk about spreads or whatever, go for it. If nobody is interested, I'll let this thread die. I won't be betting on the NFL this weekend but here are the spreads: Packers -3.5 @ Bears, Over/Under 42.5 Jets +3.5 @ Steelers, Over/Under 38.5 I like both underdogs this week to cover. I liked the Jets more, but I changed my mind to the Bears. I haven't thought the Bears were a great team all year. But GB isn't playing in the dome like last week, and I think the Bears special teams gives them a huge advantage. Even if the Packers kick it away from hester, they are gonna lose yardage and valuable field position. Robbie Gould is the best bad-weather kicker in the league, I think the Bears are actually going to win this game outright because I think the Packers are too 1-dimensional. I don't think they can run it on the Bears @ home, and they won't be able to pass like last week when they played a worse ATL defense in a dome. I'd take the Jets at +3.5 as my #2 bet. I could see this game being decided by a field goal and I could also see the Jets winning outright. They have really impressed me these past 2 weeks, I am hoping this isn't a letdown game for them after beating the Pats last week. Some teams might get content with beating the Pats in a divisonal rivalry game, but i think Rex will have his boys fired up and ready to go. If anyone is interested in betting and has any questions about basic stuff, ask away. Last edited by Dirty; 01-22-2011 at 07:08 PM. |

I have always been a bit confused about gambling with the over/under and the point spreads and how the payout works based on that. So that's why I have never gambled on sports games.

i have only gambled once and that was during the 2006 World Cup Finals
even then, that bitch I betted with mixed up which team she was betting on, and we had a huge row over the winnings, and I haven't spoken to her since sports gambling is legalised here although Malays/Muslims aren't allowed to gamble, only Chinese and Indians |

NBA Finals coming up, that means big luck and big bucks if you know your teams. Who's tired? Who's fresh? Who's hot?
I wouldn't mind betting against LA if they face Portland in the first round. Portland matches up very well with a seemingly depleted Lakers team that will be heavily favored in early games. I may have to renew my Bodog account for these finals.
