Causa Sui - Summer Sessions Vol. 1 There are trails near my college that I usually run and this album just makes it magical. It was a recommendation from Jackhammer when I mentioned I was digging the stoner rock lately. Isis - Oceanic I know it might be a bit heavy for running, but damn does it get me going. If you haven't caught on yet, I love listening to albums all the way through while running. I haven't figured out yet if this is because I'm too lazy to make myself a running playlist or because I'm just that anal. This album gives me a perfect hour of running - as of lately anyway. Atmosphere - God Loves Ugly This is on there and though I've had my time with it, I am so sick of it. I don't know what it is, but it has been rubbing me the wrong way lately. Bad Religion - All Ages Another favorite to run to; it's a good mix of all their hits. I love albums that get you pumped. Then there are albums that not succeed at getting you pumped, but also include excerpts that just gets you jolted for a brief moment for that heart rate increasing sprint. Russian Circles - Empros Their latest and being as they're an instrumental post-rock band, there are dull moments that I might skip past. If I'm on a good rhythm, I find the flow of the album to be just right. Sometimes, I listen to podcasts too. I like Science Fridays, This Week in Microbiology and This Week in Virology as of lately. Your turn. |

I'll give you the first 10 songs that come up on Shuffle since theres like 150 songs or whatever...
1. Arch Enemy - Pilgram That soaring second guitar ups my pace by a good 30 seconds per mile. 2. Soundgarden - Birth Ritual As I've said somewhere on here before, this is the love child of Immigrant Song and Working Man. And it will melt faces. 3. Dr. Dre & Tupac - California Love Ain't no jam, like a west coast jam, cause a west coast jam keeps you on a nice even keel. That bouncy string section is so right it hurts. 4. Bruce Springsteen - Eyes on the Prize I don't have many old negro spirituals on my running mix, but the horns on this one, coupled with the slowly building fury of this song is nothing short of righteous, and for an opening song, there is none better. Helps you build to race-pace without all the tendon-snapping that comes with punk. 5. Ke$ha - We R who we R Sometimes you just need something so sacchrine and peppy you forget that your kidneys are failing. Ke$ha does it for me and if given the chance, I'd do it for her as well. yum. 6. Michael Jackson - Beat it I assume this doesn't need explaination. PM me if it does. 7. The Wombats - Tokyo Alright so this might expose some of my mental hangups/emotional illness but I love listening to songs about old girlfriends. Reminds me I need to be in top form in case I ever see them again. Plus few rock songs have such a "city living" feel. And since I run in the city... 8. Fitz & The Tantrums - Moneygrabber 1 is for the money, 2 is for the green, and this song is for my final mile. Such good piano I swear it makes me sexier. 9. Brittney Spears - 'Til the world ends Pff...More like keep on running til the world ends. 10. Rob Zombie - Feel so Numb The James Brown of soul-disco-horror-rock. Feels so numb is on there in hopes of me actually going numb to the lactic acid.

Nice list. I'll ignore the bit about the punk.
Ratatat's Classics was an album I ran to a lot over the summer. Something about listening to it with my headphones made me feel like the most popular eighth grader. Ooh, what about types of shoes do you guys prefer? Where do you run? |

Well don't get me wrong, I generally aim to insult punk, but in this case I'm just referencing the crazy BPM that comes with punk.

I've been looking to try out the NB minimus, and potentially the creepy feet shoe things. I don't know how I feel about that though. Also, this song is pretty sick, 3's. Whole album this good?
